You may be on to something.

This half inning in particular was one of the worst examples of a bad strike zone I can recall - I counted at least 5 pitches the home plate umpire got wrong between Murphy and Mayza.

Even when the bullpen goes unscathed it's still a slog.

Murphy does a great job coming in with 0 outs and runners on 1st and 3rd, gets a K and a double play. But then the next inning he comes out and walks two batters. Leaves with the bases loaded. Thankfully Mayza comes in and gets the last out, but even that at bat was a slog getting to a full count.

They just don't make it easy on themselves. Nice clean innings from Castro and Romano though, which was good.

Anyways, now a day off and then the Mariners. Is anyone surprised that now that the Jays are going to face the Mariners that they just happen to be red hot having gone 8-2 in their last 10? If they win today they will have swept the White Sox lol. We got the Rangers when they were hot and the Royals when they were hot too.

Oh well, go Jays!

Lopez for the Orioles was getting hosed by a horrible strike zone for a bit. The walk to Reese McGuire was unbelievably bad. It’s just such a blight on the game. Anyways jays are cruising now.

Dickerson is an OF no?

Not much room for him on this roster, but adding that arm doesnt hurt at all.

Left handed power and a decent glove. And a reliever,

Sounds good to me.

If we move Grichuk hopefully it's for a left handed batter and/or 3B.

I would image Gurriel would be dealt if anyone.

Probably more long term value for a team acquiring and less short term value to the Jays.

Both are signed 2 more years IIRC but Gurriel is MUCH cheaper and a bit younger.

Though he would hold more value in a deal.

I dunno....pretty crowded OF all of a sudden though.

Minor leaguer named

https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article...ospect/sn-amp/

The Toronto Blue Jays addressed an urgent need in the bullpen and added a power left-handed bat by acquiring right-hander Adam Cimber and outfielder Corey Dickerson from the Miami Marlins for infielder Joe Panik and minor-leaguer Andrew McInvale, according to multiple industry sources.

McInvale, a right-hander pitching at double-A New Hampshire, was a 37th round pick in 2019. In 20.2 innings over 13 games, he had a 2.18 ERA and 28 strikeouts with a 1.21 WHIP.

Cimber's vitals:

ERA: 2.88
WHIP: 1.19
Opps BA: 2.42

in 34 1/3 innings (which is more than any Jay reliever, except Thornton (35 2/3))

Pretty good value for Panik and a 37th round pick.

And the money left on Dickerson's contract which I'm sure was the big get for the marlins.

Good deal. An actual MLB pitcher for the bullpen and a lefthanded bat for virtually nothing (no offense to Joe Panik). Sure will be nice when the bullpen pieces sitting on the DL are back.

LH power bat would hopefully mean the Tellez experiment is over which would be a very good thing.

Just need to find someone to spell Vlad Jr from time to time.

Vlad is truly amazing. Ohtani just hit his 27th home run which is insane.

It’s great to have such amazing talents to watch these days.

If Ohtani keeps this pace up, or even close, isn't he a lock for the MVP? As much as we love Vlad's season to be so good on offense and pitching in one season is incredible.
