For those of you who ride and work downtown I was wondering how much you pay to use your buildings facilities.
Our new office is on 5th and 5th and they charge $120 for bike storage, shower and towels.

I've paid as much as $100/yr several years back also for indoor secured storage, shower, and towels and thought that was an and thought that was an awesome deal at the time.
Current building has included new bike lockup (will use for first time later this week since they only opened it the day we all got sent home last Sept for Covid WFH). Company has own gym c/w lockers and showers and towels which is frickin' awesome.

got out for a spin on saturday with my fat bike.
the conditions early on in the morning in fish creek were real and they were spectacular.
with his warmer weather, i am thinking of getting ahead of things and getting my bikes into the shop for a tune up as i have a shifting issue i can't seem to get dialled in

Rode fish creek as well, east of MacLeod trail sucked and was all post holed, west was awesome and fantastic conditions. I was on my gravel bike though, maybe a fat tire bike would have been okay in the eastern portion

if by east i am assuming you mean the whole bow bottom area, then i would say even with a fat bike that whole area was kind of crummy.

Yup, bow bottom by the ice caves and all along the creek, was a pretty unpleasant on the hands.
The west was great, awesome snow, minimal ice, plus the sun was out.

West Bragg Creek (WBC) - Oh The Snow
in Fatbike Trail Reports
No photos from our Friday Night Lights Fatbike ride, but conditions were fat-tastic.
The snow was magnifique.
Our route:
Up Boundary Ridge, Ranger Summit, Strange Brew (yup, still some ruts to keep things spicey!), Snowy Owl.
Some excellent bike therapy after a week's work.
Couldn't wipe the smile off the faces of riders in the parking lot post-ride including one guy who reported excellent conditions on the North side as well: "Best fatbiking conditions I've seen in 5 years!!"
Your mileage may vary this weekend.

So today I called the bike shop about getting my rigs in for a tune up. The process is now show up it’s your bike and they examine it. If they feel they have the parts then they book u in.
What a time to be alive

The Bike Shop is usually my go-to. I needed to get mine in before my trip and they couldn't do it so I brought mine all the way to Cranked in Airdrie because I know the mechanic and he does great work. I was in that day and had it back the following day. He did a full tear down/clean, cable replacement, brake pads, etc. I almost didn't want to ride it when it I got it back because I knew it would be dirty the moment I started riding.
I got back from Palm Springs on Friday. 8 days of riding around California was just what the doctor ordered. We had a minivan so, while we did a few city rides, we also drove to Joshua Tree a couple times, Temecula a couple times and did a ride from Oceanside to Torrey Pines (50km+ bike lane). All-in-all, we got in 660+km and 7000m of climbing over the 8 days.

Sounds like a phenomenal trip and my FOMO is now on "high".
What was the best way to find the good road routes you ended up doing?

I went with 3 other guys and 2 of them had ridden half a dozen times down there so we just did routes they were familiar with.
We also checked out other local riders for routes they'd done to mix it up.
Temecula has a spiderweb of roads through vineyards and orchards. You could spend a week there without riding too many of the same roads.

I have always liked this approach- better than booking you 6 weeks from now, only to find out then they don't have the parts.

Dusted off the cross bike and rode to work this morning. I'm going to try it for several reasons including, I drive a (argh) truck, gas prices, exercise. I live in a small town so it's not a big ride but it's a start.
On a side note I found these used specialized cyclocross bikes for spouse and I last summer. They're nothing special but man are they fun to ride. Managed to fit 40 mm gravel tires on them.

Anyone know a good place to order a rear wheel from? It's a 90's road bike, 8 speed 130mm. I've looked at The Bike Shop and a few online places, but not really finding what I need. Or if anyone has a used one they want to get rid of! I don't want junk, it was a decent wheel but the rim cracked. Shoddy manufacturing only lasting 30 years...they don't build them like they used to!

I'm sure there are a bunch sitting in people's garages. Might be worth posting a Looking For ad on Facebook marketplace or Kijiji.

I want to get a cargo ebike this year to make it easier to haul my kids around. I will use that bike for year-round daycare dropoffs and neighborhood trips, keeping my other bikes for longer rides. Anyone have a recommendation?
I was thinking of going cheap with the rad wagon. Does anyone have experience with Rad Power bikes?

Surferguy has that one(or very similar). He seems pleased. Sliver also has a Rad or 3.
