I been saying the same thing all season, Jays had a poor offseason, they never made the correct moves required last season. Its basically has caught up to them.
Pitching looks like they are pitched out, bull pen is struggling.... yikes.
I would hope, Jays make a change in the GM as the first step,
This needs to occur before they start to sell assets, as I don't believe for a second the current GM is the correct person to handle the rebuild, retool or what ever its called.

It's too bad the cupboards are so bare for this team. The one player that would be a perfect fit for the retool would be Luis Robert from the White Sox. But I know the Jays would never be able to match whatever asking price they'd have for him.

I said at the beginning of the year the best case scenario was the bats rebound, the signings were a wash with the people who left, and the pitching regressed a bit, and then the outcome is they were even with last year.
Unfortunately the bats didn't rebound, and Bichette and Springer have been worse. The signings outperformed my expectations though. IKF was better than expected - he actually has a higher OPS than Matt Chapman and has been good defensively. Turner has been fine on average although very streaky.
But pitching didn't revert to the mean a bit, it fell off a cliff. The bullpen has been terrible. Injuries to high leverage guys, Swanson/Mayza issues, losing Hicks combine to make the bullpen way worse. I wanted Hicks back and he's turned into a great signing for the Giants - his ERA as a starter is better than Berrios, Kikuchi, or Gausman with nearly as many innings pitched. Could have used him back for sure. Gausman losing that extra tick of velocity has really hurt him, and taken him from dominant to below average. That alone probably cost us a few wins so far this year.

I guess, fact is Vladdy has hit well, and the lineup is 15 games out of 1st place and 8 games out of a wild card. They will sell assets.
Key is what is the long term plan?
Last season, Jays pitching were awesome, it had to drop back somewhat. Would not have guessed the bull pen would struggle to this extent.

Will be watching the Blue Jay's in Seattle and San Francisco in the next few days. Wish they were playing better but I will enjoy the games anyway.

Nice bomb by Horwitz. Then Vladdy gets on base again with a double, he's on a real heater.

5 runs this inning.
Is Berrios ok? He's really struggling right now, guys are teeing off on him. Wonder if there's something lingering we don't know about, he's only thrown 60 pitches.

He must've been tipping pitches. Or, you know, cheaters gonna cheat. They had like 6 straight hard hit balls after he was cruising all game. Kinda joking but also not really.
