A 5-1 lead in the 8th inning and they lose to the oriLOLes. That's as bad as it gets. Just putrid.

Chatwood should not be pitching unless you have a 10 run lead, so he pretty much should just not pitch anymore.

5 walks from Chatwood and Thornton. If these losers are your high leverage guysa you're pretty much ####ed.

The oriLOLes got the winning run in the 10th without even GETTING A HIT!!!!

Even the Orioles reliever knows how to throw heat. Jays relievers just nibbling with cutters and junk.

It worked two games in Miami. At some point the Jays hitters need to deliver in walk off situations. They’re awful at it this year.

That was a cute little win streak they had going. Briefly took my mind off of how bad the pen is. Giving up 3 walks to the bottom of the Orioles order is inexcusable, but they had an out. How Grichuk doesnt catch that ball in the 10th is beyond me. That floppy oversized novelty glove he wears is ridiculous and cost the Jays a run. Ship Grichuk with some cash retained to Orioles and get some of their bullpen arms. At least they can throw strikes.

We have a 71 WRC+ in extra innings and a 31 WRC+ in high leverage in extra innings. They really need to be better at hitting in those situations. Yes the bullpen blew the game but once again the Jays hitters came up short late in the game.

Dude, it was 5-1 in the 8th.

Batters average about .260 or one in 4.

They lost because of 5 free passes, not because Vladdy hit into a double play.

Also, batters have to face top relievers in high leverage situations, well, unless they are facing the Jays pen.

That excuse would hold if other teams were equally as bad. They aren’t so I’m going to have to give the Jays hitters some blame here. I said above the bullpen blew the game so I agreed with you. But teams can sometimes rescue bad pitching. Just not this team right now. I need to look up come from behind and late inning wins because it seems the Jays are just really bad at it. I fully agree with you the bullpen is the part to blame here but it would be nice to see the Jays gets clutch late inning hit once in a while. The only one I can recall lately is Bo’s hit but that was a bad defensive play.

That was disappointing. Playoff teams close out games when they are up 4 runs. Non-playoff teams don’t.
