Neither? Isn't this a discussion forum? What a strange comment.
Why do you care what I post? See how irrelevant that sounds?

You literally called it another Smollett situation and said “screw you Bubba Wallace” because he called a noose, a noose.
So you can probably forgive people for not understanding your motivations here when even you don’t seem to know what, exactly, you’re upset about. Why even bring up Smollett in the first place? And why are you mad about a noose (which, despite our interpretation based on vague images here, is being called a noose by the people who actually saw it) being called a noose. What is the point of your debate? You talk about outrage, but you seem to be the only one upset. And outside of the strawmen you’re creating, it’s unclear who or what you’re arguing against. It’s pretty strange.

You're starting to enter bad faith territory here. Can you maybe answer my questions before you start clacking more at me? Like seriously I recapped top of last page the exact thing I was "upset" about with Bubba, and you write this?

The disconnect is that WO403 thinks that Bubba Wallace's continued insistence on focusing on the fact that the knot is (or looks like) a noose is an attempt to continue arguing that this is a racial issue. In fact, I think he's just saying, "look, it's a noose. My reaction made sense, because I found a noose in my garage. I now understand that it wasn't some symbolic racist gesture that was aimed at me, but I'm not crazy and I wasn't making things up. My reaction at the time was totally understandable, so get all the way off my back about this." Which I think is right - I would probably have jumped to the same conclusion in his shoes.

The Smollett thing is the thing I have a problem with too. That's insinuating he planted it or made it up.
Whether a rope tied as a noose should be interpreted as a noose is maybe a reasonable argument. Living in the Southernish US, I would be taken aback to see a rope tied as a noose in a garage. I get someone growing up in Canada might not.

How did Bubba Watson get dragged into this? He was getting rid of confederate flags off the General Lee before it was the thing to do!

I am not sure, but it must have something to do with that pink driver. Very suspect.

Man, you're a trip. You come in here all hitting the swear filter, Jessi Smollet refs, screw you Bubba Wallace, and a whole schwack of posts on the subject. Now you're in here throwing bad faith comments and "upset" in too. What a ride. I'm gonna go sit with Locke and eat some popcorn.

Whether the the noose as here for innocent reasons or not, I don't doubt that it was jarring for Bubba Wallace to see.

Says a lot when some are so concerned with poking holes in a factually accurate story about a team member finding what looks like a noose in the only black driver’s garage. So anxious to try and cry that it’s lie and fabricated story. I don’t get it at all. Weird angle to take right now. Maybe they’re super concerned about all knots mattering? I don’t know.

Yes, exactly. Especially when you consider the state of racial relations in the country right now, in a place like Talladega, it is not a stretch at all to assume that a noose would be intentionally left for a black driver's team to find as intimidation. This is a sport that just banned the confederate flag and are now holding a race in an area that loves the confederate flag.
Seriously, have you met some people in the south? There's enough racist #######s to go around down here that it's not a stretch at all to assume it was intentional and an act of defiance against the confederate flag being removed. There is some deep seeded hatred of all things northern or liberal in the south that will probably never go away in some pockets of the population.
I guess it's good to know that it wasn't recent, so that hypothesis that it's retaliation for banning the confederate flag can be thrown out, but it's a pretty terrible coincidence and you can't blame people for thinking the worst when things are so rough right now. Hell, I totally get it if Wallace still thinks it was intentional even after it was disproven. It must be hard to trust that there was no ill intentions if you're black in America and know your history.

Instead he's now fighting what looks like a proper and complete conclusion by the FBI.
Is he undoing the good that's come out of this, maybe a bit, I don't know.

I don't know how to embed tweets, but this seems pretty supportive of NASCAR, the FBI, and the efforts made recently.

Aside from stating that the noose was tied with no racial connotations (which he couldn't possibly know), what exactly should he do? This entire situation was handled really well by everybody, and the conclusion that it wasn't a hate crime against Wallace is the best possible outcome. The people on twitter and in this thread accusing him of making this thing up are the problem, not Bubba Wallace.

It really goes both ways and is reasonable to discuss without veiled accusations.
We all recognize people can be pretty bad, it doesn't end with just racism. There is a lot of bad to go around.

Bubbas twitter posts today are exactly what he should have said on national tv last night, and I'm glad he's not pushing the racism narrative anymore. Seriously. Good for him.
