I don't think they mean 'invest' in the Dino 'to the moon baby' sense, when politicians talk about investing in crypto they mean they will look into ways of creating a state backed coin or using blockchain in some way, mostly they are hedging their bets with the voter, it sounds like they have their finger on the pulse without actually having to do or promise anything

a few years ago 90K was the moon...very few posters in here thought it would get anywhere near current levels, we do have post history.

What is the next moon? 150K? because it will get there.

I can't imagine continually bragging about being wrong but that's just me.

I mean I came with legit news that Harris planned to invest in digital currency should she win...we know Trump will. There is ZERO reason to knock such news unless you are butthurt about being wrong. Its not too late though, BTC is still relatively cheap.

not withstanding the wild swings up and down BTC is worth slightly more now that it was in 2020, if you invested in 2019 you're a genius, if you invested in 2020 you've made about the same as investing in Costco, maybe it goes up, personally I suspect it is starting to actually behave like a currency and this is about its worth given it's utility

BTC high was 34k in 2020, right now it is 92K CAD
It was also 10K in January of 2020

From the 2021 peaks Bitcoin has performed terribly. Up just 15%. A significant underperformance relative to things as simple as buying index funds.

If you are just a buy and hold BTC it’s not looking great since then. Now playing the speculative market there is money to be made

I don’t know if it’s cherry picking because if I was I and we were using covid lows I could look at something like CNRL which is up 8x plus dividends and you got to invest in a real company.

I don’t think my position has ever changed on BTC it has potential to be a store of value like gold and there is still a non-zero chance of it being worth nothing in the future.
