I guess I was inspired by this Drumeo that connected Rush to The Mars Volta.
As a drummer I appreciate these videos, but I seriously question the legitimacy of the whole "you've never heard this?" angle of it. When they're using mostly big hits of major artists/bands and doing it with major drummers who mostly understand and were influenced by other famous drummers it comes off a little "ya sure 'bout that?"
Especially Chad Smith, that one was so transparent. He later admitted that he's friends with Jared Leto and his brother Shannon (drums). So you're friends with a major band from the 2000's and put out hits with Red Hot Chili Peppers at the same time as they put out their biggest hit The Kill, but you never heard it before?
I think it's just how it's worded, definitely some click bait to placate the ol' YouTube algorithm. It definitely seems more like 'i don't know the song' rather than 'I've literally never heard this before'
It was the same with the Greg Bissonette one recently, as soon as he was told the band name at the end he's like 'ah #### I shoulda known that, I know the drummer' but it just never clicked in his brain until then. I don't doubt that he really wasn't familiar with the song and the part, and the performances are genuine. But yeah, "I've never heard this before" while coincidentally having brought that drummers signature sticks is hilarious

Imagine a 66 year old guy like me stopped at a light and blasting this song. The 2 guys in the rice rocket beside me couldn't believe what they heard coming from my vehicle
I didn't respond to this properly. This is one of my favorite bands and they just don't get the love they deserve. Is it because they are generally lo fi? Unsure, but they still resonate with me so much. I've seen them live several times, and I'm always in awe of people who have never heard of them.

And last but not least...this is one of the songs shared between my wife and I. When I played it for her on like our 2nd or 3rd date, she told me this is when she realized she loved me. To me, music has an exceptional power to bind us together, and this is the best example I have, at least in my life.

New Order is my favourite band and I love BLT even though I think it’s not among their best songs. Frente’s cover is quite good but I can’t see myself listening to it over the original.
