WV seems like a completely different scenario. Manchin is popular in his state and his state more or less agrees with his stances.

Who cares at this point? He doesn't represent the Democrats. He's a DINO. You're better off not having the seat if that seat is just going to work against your agenda. You're losing with him, he doesn't really play for your team, so why support him?

You mean someone in their union crunched the numbers and finally figured out that this omnibus bill that is impossible to parse, even for the actual members of congress that are voting on it, actually benefits the working class in a massively disproportionate way? You mean that Biden actually is trying to take care of the coal miners and other working class types?
Who woulda thought?
So, then, why is Manchin not endorsing this bill, especially when it will positively affect his electorate and be dubbed a hero?
One wonders if he's angling for a higher position in the future. It's either a completely obtuse political position devoid of any real knowledge of how this would benefit him, or it's pure gamesmanship. Either way, he sucks.

His obligation is to his constituents, that's how democracy works. And in this instance, it is working rather well.
Americans don't want the version of the Dems that is far left. They would much rather have a centrist/moderate Dem party. They're going to learn this the easy way or the hard way.

It's pretty clear he doesn't give two s**ts about his constituents. Read the post above regarding the mine worker's union.

His constituents will decide that in the next election.

You know how far right the overton window has moved when "maybe people shouldn't go bankrupt paying for insulin" is considered a radical leftist idea.

It's incredibly easy to see how big a troll you are when there is a post right after mine that shows Manchin is working against the best interests of his constituents. So this clearly shows you're a complete and total troll, or a ####ing idiot of the likes never seen before. I believe you're just a massive troll.

It's up to the voters to determine what is in their best interest.

The "overton window" has moved dramatically to the left in recent years, as has policy.

At a time when white nationalists are considered mainstream, I would call bull#### on your interpretation of direction of the Overton Window.

Political views aside, I hate this type of response to a challenge - a simple statement in direct opposition of the challenge with no support or reasoning. It is borderline gaslighting.

I could go on.

Well, considering there is a large chunk of the population who want Trump back in office, that makes white nationalism pretty mainstream. Especially when you consider Stephen Miller, Sebastian Gorka, and Steve Bannon were policy advisors that seems to suggest that white nationalists had a pretty big say in his policy making decisions. And if you think that isn't enough, consider that Trump appointed Darren Beattie and Jason Richwine to positions in government departments. Lert's not forget Trump's embracing of the Proud Boys. When a president is appointing known racists and self professed white nationalists to government positions, and embracing groups with links directly to white nationalism, that's pretty mainstream. But continue to deny the obvious.
