Watching Fed was like watching Milos. Credit to the opponents.... And both gave it away.

And hopefully with a strong run the Aussies will have a new #1 singles tennis player and kyrgios will fade into the background or out of tennis.

Millman's a nice story of perseverance, but Alex de Minaur is your man (more boy at the moment) if you want the eventual leader of Australian tennis.
yesterday one guy handled tough conditions and one guy didn't, simple as that. at least when Rafa or Djoker or struggling, they can revert to human backboard form and try to wait things out. With Fed, there is no plan B if the attacking tennis is misfiring.
as per usual, I'm disgusted that sports will not give me what I want (yes I know Fed won AO but that feels like years ago already). watch hockey, disappointment...turn to tennis, disappointment. should I become a basketball fan so that at least I know the final result well in advance and can't be shocked and pissed off when things go sideways?

It's been a long time since the days of Patrick Rafter -- a wholesome-type fellow who didn't fly off the handle and still seems to be a pretty big deal in Australia.
Not that I have a real say as a Canadian, but I always preferred Rafter over Lleyton Hewitt.
And then the era with Kyrgios and Tomic hit. A lot of promise, but too many distractions, to put it mildly.
Alex de Minaur looks to have a really bright future.

Isner - DelPo should be a interesting match today especially where the fans are concerned, obviously there will be a large contingent of Americans rooting for Isner, but the Argentine fans are very boisterous in their support for Delpo. It could take on the feel of a Davis Cup match.

The only thing hotter than an Isner first serve is the temperature - Heat policy in effect again today.

Isner's lack of fitness likely prevents him from winning this. Already looks gassed while DelPo looks calm like a bomb.
