4TB for $279 seems like a pretty good deal, and the SN5000 seems to perform better than its peers, quite good for a QLC drive. Perfect for me for a 2nd drive and I can finally get rid of the noise of the drive spinning up every once and a while.
Also takes up less space for when I want to move to a smaller case.

All right .. all right (matthew mcconaughey)I got one for the collective brain trust...
So I've been having signal loss issues with my pc. 13900k , and 4090 with a g9 oled. So I have every part that's had issues this gen asus maximus board,13900k 40 you name it. My second pc is a x670e cross hair,4090, 7800x3d etc same issues....
Trouble shooter every part one by one same results each and every damn time...
All symptoms on both systems pointed to any of the components being at fault because they all apparently suck.
Weird ass fix to night on both computers. I plugged hdmi 2.1 into the mother board and play for an hour straight on them ( I was getting signal loss 15 mins on each in far cry 5 replay).
Then I plugged the hdmi cable in to the graphic cards with out a restart and they both stayed on flawlessly.. the interesting part is after burner on both rigs reported 3 times fps but also reported that the gpu reported nothing .. so weird never seen this before . Cpu igpu was reporting and no shut done at 80 to 90 fps. Then connected to gpu no shut down fps shot up to 160 fps avg. No shut down and no power draw reporting via afterburner . Flawlessly 3 hour play through where it was every 10 to 15 min when hw64 and afterburner were reporting...
So I'm going to just re install full windows on both rigs. Something is reporting and conflicting. .
Cable plugged into gpu and issues stopped when no stats for gpu reported.
Nvm photo wont show

Linus didn't give him crap, he gave Linus crap, because he's the self-appointed keeper of morality and ethics in the industry, which is entirely about creating drama for views. I like Steve when he's not doing his holier-than-thou schtick, but the tactic is extremely transparent.
... And effective, because obviously I'm going to watch that video.

Duh. He's Tech Jesus. Not Tech Trump.
Jokes aside, Steve gave Linus crap, but Linus gave crap back instead of acknowledging LTT's shortcomings. I think. I mostly forgot about all that drama.
Also when LTT had to take a hiatus because someone filed a tour and the staffer ahit talked every other youtuber in the tech space. That lead to the allegations that proved false but led to the company restructuring as Steve did a news peice on the Rise and fall of ltt.
I like gamers nexus and what purely because they are the most trusted when it comes to testing and holding companies to account on their actions but out of every tech tuber I watch he seems like the least person I'd want to chill and have a beer with. Like you'd miss speak or mis remember and he'd just call you out flatly. I'm sure it's the same throughout the tech world. I watched Jay's reaction to the story and he's was like " I'm not piggy backing on the story , the content is because the Steve and we ran ads . We just never promoted the flex program so please , please, please understand we overlooked it and don't group us in".
Jay and Steve use to callable alot but even he was like dude just be chill we missed things.
Steve does good work for consumers but Steve also seems he's kinda swarmy and I'm a gate keeper that could ruin you at any moment just give me a reason.

This is probably easily answered but I have a desktop at home with dual screens but also now have a work laptop that I will need to work remotely (this is a sad day because I used to just remote into my workstation which is now being taken down).
I'm guessing I need a 'hub' of sorts for USB and monitor cables for easy switching between the two?
If so, what is a good hub that would meet these needs? Thanks!
If you just want to use one monitor most monitors have multiple inputs, I just switch back and forth between inputs on my home monitor when I bring my work laptop home.
I have a keyboard that can pair with multiple systems too so I just switch the keyboard back and forth between systems with a button on the keyboard. Mice I use two different mice as I have my work mouse that I take with me with the laptop. So no switch is needed.
Otherwise yeah you'd need some kind of KVM switch.
I don't have any specific recommendation though, at work we use StarTech hubs and docks which have worked well for me but their dual monitor KVMs aren't cheap: https://www.startech.com/en-ca/serve...t/sv231dhu34k6
Another option is just a cheap physical HDMI switch, one for each cable, and then a USB switch for the USB devices. Lots of cables and buttons to switch but might be cheaper.

Can you get your employer to pay for a new monitor too? A lot of new models now come with KVM capabilities built in to allow you to use one set of KB/mice; usually supporting one computer using HDMI/DP+USB upstream and another using USB-C/Thunderbolt.

So It the stupid moniter and nvidia card is both at fault on my rig. After trying a million things it turns out the way Nvida cards use dcs and how the moniter receives the info is no beuno at 240hz mode . And to top it off the last update from a week ago now has been blackscreening everyone's oled g9.. great. 240hz was everyones original proble unless to went into the drivers container and deleted the telemetry files. O well , glad I have my lg 45 I can use for high fps. Just going to have to wait for yet another r hot fix for this moniter.

Thanks - I think they're going to do that for my office setup but I have a widescreen at home I don't think I'd be too inclined to part with
Desk build continued...
Anyone come across any clean, simple desk mount usb-c plugs? My tower is on a trolly under my desk, and I'll be installing a cable tidy & a slim laptop/pencil center drawer.

I used a KVM switch at my setup in Seattle and I have a Dell 34" ultra wide at my condo in Scottsdale that has built in KVM functionality.
I much prefer the KVM switch as it's simply one button. The Dell monitor requires a couple clicks and a scroll through the on screen menu using the toggle switch on the back of the monitor. The switch is just so more convenient to use. It's a total first world problem, but a mildly annoying one.

Plus probably rather wear out a kvm switch vs wearing out the on screen controls of a monitor. I do worry about that with how much I use the monitor buttons.

Let me know how it goes! I'm considering that case for my next one
Case is generally ok but... #### NZXT.
The case comes with 3 preinstalled RGB case fans, and these are connected to a splitter cable that plugs into the MOBO header. Cool, no problem.
So because I have a NZXT case, I buy three more NZXT rgb fans, one for back of case, two for bottom. Plug one into mobo, it stops working - rgb fried.
Start doing some research, and NZXT has proprietary connections so you HAVE to use their controller + CAM software. Mobos short circut the rgbs. Highly annoying, but I exchange one of the fans and give it a try. Yeah, the software works, but it won't sync with the mobo rgbs. But the literal NZXT factory preinstalled fans that connect to mobo synce with mobo, but don't sync with the CAM software. So now the preinstalled fans, ram and AIO all sync together, but the extra fans don't.
I figure OK easy fix, I'll but the same splitter cable and plug into mobo. Nope, NXZT already thought of that and doesn't sell it. And you can't use generic splitter, for the same reasons as above: it'll short circuit the rgbs.
Returned all NZXT fans (except the preinstalled ones) and am buying Arctic brand that will sync with Asus (or other brand mobos).
#### NZXT.
If I was doing it all over, I'd probably get do a bit more research on which brands work together. It seems like most do... except NZXT play in their own sandbox.
