It's the solution when your owner are a bunch of cheap stiffs that refused to adequately address the situation in the offseason. Sanchez innings limit is just a perfect deflection for them. This team basically turned over their entire bullpen and brought in an aging Drew Storen as the answer and only did that because he only had 1 year left on his contract and was a name people would recognize so they couldn't say Rogers didn't spend any money on pitching.
Imagine where we'd be if they had adequately addressed the bullpen in the offseason. How many games have we lost because this was not addressed through free agency? 10? 15?
Sanchez may fill one spot in the bullpen, but there's till 2 two others to fill even if Cecil comes back and pitches reasonably well, and now we have one gigantic hole in our starting rotation. We basically have Estrada and Happ. Are we really going to try and win the AL East with that?
In my opinion, the only way we make the playoffs at this point is if we get a wildcard. We don't have the prospects anymore to be able to add much for rentals come the deadline, and make no mistake about it, Boston and Baltimore will be loading up.
