Man oh man that was frustrating. By no means are the Jays out of contention but they need to start stringing some wins together. This is supposed to be the easier part of the season.

We better win the next two games. I don't want to risk the possibly of the Orioles stretching their AL East lead even more by the All-Star break.

As long as the Jays are 5-6 games over .500 by the all star break, it'll be fine. There are always going to be ups and downs. Losing Jose is a big blow to the team, as is Tulo's black hole of a bat.

So that's what's wrong with his bat!

Yikes, I got home and decided to sit out on the deck and listen to the game and enjoy the evening. Turned it on in the bottom of the 7th. What a terrible decision.

It's so frustrating to have the bullpen blow so many leads late. When leading after 6 innings:

Blue Jays 33-11
Red Sox 32-3
Rays 22-7
Orioles 28-4
Yankees 25-3

It's not so much that the Jays are giving up leads (they are pretty middle of the pack where they've been leading at some point but lost at 20 times this year). It's the fact that the bullpen cannot lock it down late - it's scary every time that starter walks off the mound.

Luckily they are still in the hunt right now, but if they are serious about a playoff run, the bullpen needs to fix itself soon, or they need to bring in somebody proven.

Sanchez in the pen is the solution unfortunately

It's the solution when your owner are a bunch of cheap stiffs that refused to adequately address the situation in the offseason. Sanchez innings limit is just a perfect deflection for them. This team basically turned over their entire bullpen and brought in an aging Drew Storen as the answer and only did that because he only had 1 year left on his contract and was a name people would recognize so they couldn't say Rogers didn't spend any money on pitching.

Imagine where we'd be if they had adequately addressed the bullpen in the offseason. How many games have we lost because this was not addressed through free agency? 10? 15?

Sanchez may fill one spot in the bullpen, but there's till 2 two others to fill even if Cecil comes back and pitches reasonably well, and now we have one gigantic hole in our starting rotation. We basically have Estrada and Happ. Are we really going to try and win the AL East with that?

In my opinion, the only way we make the playoffs at this point is if we get a wildcard. We don't have the prospects anymore to be able to add much for rentals come the deadline, and make no mistake about it, Boston and Baltimore will be loading up.
