I wouldn't recommend watching it middway thru. if you have Shaw, all the episodes are in HD and for Free in the TV section of Shaw on Demand. I would definitely watch the first 3 episodes there.

If you have Shaw, you can watch all the episodes for free on VOD (video on demand). I think its in the tv section or it may be in the free section of VOD.
Edit: Opps... too late... VFF beat me to it.

I thought the first 3 were the best 3, so if you have the 3rd one already, get the first 2 as well.

Not going to read the thread to avoid spoilers since I haven't started watching this, but huge ratings for the finale... 6 million viewers and a 3.0 rating in adults 18-49 which is huge for cable, especially AMC.

I bet the doc whispered that his wife was pregnant...it wont be anything huge imo. Sweet finale though

That would suck, but I have a feeling you're right. I'd rather see them focus on the survival story than the love triangle soap opera crap.
Still, should be cool to see where they start the new season, where the group ends up going.

I wish you guys would stop talking about the comics...who freaking cares. What percentage of show viewers do you think actually read the comics? Not me, and I'm guessing I'm in the majority.

lol really? You wish we would stop talking about the comic book that this show is based upon? I'm sorry that us talking about something relevent to this topic offends you. From this point forward, we will only discuss less relevant things such as puppies and roses.

My first thought was that the CDC guy whispered to him:
"We're all infected" - I thought that because when Rick asked him how the blood samples looked the guy answered "no surprises"
...but the pregnant wife angle seems pretty likely.

I think I would agree with your first thought more. Makes more sense than the pregnant angle if you ask me.

More or less he wants people to stop saying things like "Well the Comic book does it this way" Because you know what, Sometimes comic books do not translate well onto television or other forms of medium, not to mention the fan base is totally different.
IMO they should have expanded the first episode and had Grimes looking around for his family more, could have done that for 2-3 episodes. IMO that is the best part about zombie anything, its the frantic, not knowing what is going on, scared out of your life part.

I find the whole relationship between Rick and Shane so contrived. It pisses me off when Shane says to Rick's wife that "Rick is his best friend." The entire show, who would have guessed that? Even if you're sleeping with the guy's wife, and you thought he was dead, wouldn't you be excited to have seen your best friend alive? I would think so. Yet all Shane can do when Rick comes back is look pissed off and stare at Rick's wife. There should have been a range of emotions, not just getting mad that your affair has to end.
That's just one part of this show that's bothered me so far. The characters are so disappointing, as is the writing. The concept is the only reason I'm watching still, as well as curiosity about certain aspects of the zombie plague.

I thought I read in this thread that they fired the entire writing staff. If so, apparantly you aren't the only one who thought the writing was subpar, and it'll will hopefully get better in season 2.

Yeah, the CDC guy just seemed so devoid of all hope as well.
