What a farce, though I don't think that this injunction will prove to be much of an obstacle in the end.

My God, these two are Clownshoes.
I mean, no one knows who owns Hicks' 50%, one second he does, the next he doesnt.
One second the the board, the club and the High Court give the green light to pushing the sale through and then theres an restraining order filed in GODDAMN TEXAS.
Like, why? He looks so desperate, you can tell that this is all hes got left, if he takes the hit on Liverpool you can bet that Hicks is broke.
One things for sure, he'll never get a cent from me again. I want this sorted so that I can be confident that this team is going to stuff Everton on the weekend.

Some great comments coming out of the 2nd leg at the High Court!
"This case has nothing to do with Texas!" (Worth repeating as that is awesome! There's only one Justice Floyd is right)
"Liverpool FC have more court wins than league wins this season" (Ouch)
NESV lawyer: 'the owners from beyond the grave are seeking to exercise with their dead hand a continuing grip on this company.'
Lord Grabiner QC speaking for Liverpool: "simply incredible" that facts of this case were not revealed in Dallas court. "They want second bite of cherry and if it wasn't so serious, it would be a joke."
Amazing stuff really. You cannot make this soap opera up. It's simply unbelievable.
and finally a post from Red and White Kop:
"So all I'm waiting for now is for John Henry to peel his face off and reveal that he was Rick Parry all along!
The way things have been the last few weeks, I don't think even that would surprise me."
Nothing really would surprise me anymore either.

I'm okay with him. I've done some research and I've looked into his methods and his finances, hes alright by me, hes no Roman Abaramvich or Kenny Huang, the guy isnt a Mr. Moneybags who will personally eat club losses indefinitely for a winning team, he believes in steady, stable growth and long term success. I'm good with that for now.
In the end though, for all LFC fans, right now its about undergoing critical surgery to have the cancerous growth of Hicks and Gilette removed. These two have got to go, and they've got to go NOW! Even now is too late, they should have been gone over a year ago.

Serious question:
Why should Hicks and Gillette just walk away from the losses they are faced with? How can people be surprised they aren't going to do everything they can to keep control of this team? Especially since they claim they have proof of a higher bid than NESV and then collusion between the bank and the other board members.

If you buy an asset, then you dont maintain it for 3 years why would you expect it to have appreciated in value?
They bought the club and they want to make money off of it despite the fact that they have run it into the ground and it has depreciated in value due to their ownership. They are not going to make any money. It isnt going to happen.
There is a higher bid, I know of one for sure, but the fact of the matter is that Peter Lim didnt get that bid in until a deal was effectively sealed with NESV. And, while the additional £40M of Lim's offer isnt chump change, it isnt the £144M shortfall that Hicks & Gilette are facing.
In effect, NESV was the highest bidder, and then Lim threw his hat in the ring when the deal was done, well, what can you do now? You've just signed a contract, so H&G got their panties in a bunch.
Further, the board was commissioned to find the 'right' buyer, not just the one who will pay the most.
Honestly, these guys are in this situation now of their own doing. The thing with H&G is that they value this club at £515M, thats what they want to get out of it, and right now no offer has come close to that and it wont, the reason being is that these two idiots have a huge goddamn mortgage of £237M on the club. If you crunch the numbers it isnt bad.

And in Football news!
Quote:
Liverpool have been handed a boost ahead of Sunday's Merseyside derby with the news that star striker Fernando Torres will be available for the trip across Stanley Park.
"Konchesky has made a good recovery as has Fernando Torres so all being well we can welcome those two back,'' said Hodgson. "Fernando's season needs to kick-start, he's been hampered a bit by injuries and what happened at the World Cup.

I don't know much about Liverpool's club news - just the squad. What kind of things did they do to run it into the ground.

They took money from player sales and used it to pay the interest on their debt so players of equal or greater quality werent being brought in for starters.
They turned the club into a less than desireable location to play to the point where the manager is begging players to stay.
Theres more, theres lots, lots more.

Yep, 'Arry needs to shut it.
Here's a quick rundown
- In April, it was either a re-financing or an extension with RBS was pulled by H&G. They agreed, but with a certain set of conditions. One of them was RBS forcing them to expand the board to 5 members, 3 being non-owners.
- Everything sat and percolated for a while. Mascherano was sold, Benayoun was sold, and somehow there's still no money. All went to interest one could assume (like last year with Alonso too)
- The hammer was coming down. RBS, due to either public pressure, or a simple realization that they were never going to get their money unless they asked for it NOW. So they made it clear no further extensions/refinancing would be made.
- Hicks tried to find money elsewhere. Nobody would give it to him.
- The board went to work. There were at the time TWO bids. Lim and NESV. They were for the same amount of money at the time, so they did due diligence on the NESV bid as they preferred their plan going forward. The board's job was to find a buyer that
A. Was best for the team, and
B. Paid off RBS.
Unless they went into administration, RBS probably wouldn't be entitled to any more than the balance of the loan+interest+fees. Since they hold the money though, they have the power.
And today:
-I hope Hicks can't afford food by Sunday.
