***SPOILERS***
I really thought the ending looked poorly thrown together. It almost feels like they started the game with one idea of what the plot would be and then 3/4 of the way through decided to change because someone thought a cool ending would be "son avenges the father". I mean they spent all that time developing this relationship with Bonnie, then your wife comes back and she's smacking you around and calling you names. So I thought for sure that after one of those "hunting with Jack" missions you would be coming back to a burnt down house with your wife toast. Then avenging her death and moving into the MacFarlanes ranch.

SPOILERS
I like that John was gunned down. There had to be a price he paid for the life he lived.

not sure if its a widespread glitch or not, but i am currently racking up about 500xp a minute in online free roam. i just keep going in and out of nosalida and it gives me XP as if i beat the area even though nothing is there. i had this weird occurrence earlier as a dude was driving a wagon and we fell into the river. after that my game started being weird. so i am not sure if its a very weird set of cirumstance or just a bigger glitch thats easy to replicate.
edit: i am going with system wide glitch at this point. i restarted the game and still happening at all locations. other players seem to be doing it as well. prolly getting over 1000 xp a minute at this point.

Just picked er up yesterday. Is there a trick to lassooing? Been on that horse lassoo level for like 15min now, I just can't get it. Been right beside them, have no idea why it won't just grab them. It's really frying my fish over here.
EDIT: Nevermind, didn't realize you had to keep holding LT when you threw it, I was letting it go as soon as I hit RT.

Keep holding down the L2 button after throwing the lasso. You can also use Deadeye mode to get a really accurate shot.

I read somewhere that there will be two DLC episodes released later this summer. I imagine atleast one of them will give us a better insight on John's past and how he got his scars.

As long as Air Canada Center could be entered, I'd be into playing that game. Me and my Flame Thrower, I call it Charlie

Are the new co-op missions for online play only? I've tried to play with my roommate but it doesn't seem to work at all.

it did help me with one of the shaprshooter tasks. you have to shoot 10 animals without reloading or something like that. and i used the rifle with the large ammo capacity and took out 10 of those things no problem. aside from that, i agree with its worthlessness.

How can you find out how good your horse is? Got a stallion from that one lasso level with Bonnie early on. Now I'm getting further in where I have money to start buying medium range horses, but I have no idea how it compares to mine.
Also, how do you know which wild horses would be an upgrade over yours, and which aren't? I just hear you can only have one horse at a time and I would hate to lose a good horse for a dud just because I figured he'd be better. Is there no way to tell beforehand?

Yeah... I unfortunately didn't have the patience for all the tasks. I got through a few and found them repetitive. After finishing the game, I power traded it back to EB Games. Got $57 in credit for it towards another game.
A large reason for wanting to get rid of the game was the lame returning home tasks, which really left me with a sour taste for the game.

If you break a horse, you can go to one of the stores and buy a deed for that breed of horse. The deed allows you, at any time, to activate it and the next time you whistle, that horse will come to you.
There are 3 "good" breeds of horse in the game.
The first one you'll come upon is the Kentucky Saddler. This is the blonde coloured horse you break on the mission with Bonnie.
The next one is the white Hungarian Half-Breed, which you'll break in Mexico either as part of or separately from one of the stranger missions. During the stranger mission, you'll come upon a crying Chinese man who is under contract to work in the mine, but wants to go home. The owner of the mine will only release him if you bring him a white stallion. They can be found running wild right around where the initial encounter takes place.
The final one is more rare, and harder to find. It's the black American Standardbred. Don't mistake the dark brown horses you'll find running around for the Standardbred. It is very black and usually found running around the Great Plains outside of Blackwater. If you haven't wiped out all the bison yet, you might find it running with them.
All three of these horses are very similar in size, speed, and stamina. Which one you prefer is pretty much a personal preference.
After you break each one, you can buy the deed at any of the stores for $500-750 depending on the store and your personal reputation. Once you have the deed, you can open your kit at any time and "use" it to activate that horse. Then, when you whistle, it'll come running.
There is no limit to the number of times you can use a deed, so you can always have one at your disposal.

yea, I'm kind of PO'ed that I bought the game at EB instead of best buy. I could have used the horse all along. Instead I opted for the deadly assassin outfit, but all it did was make it so you could get it by doing missions, not give it to you right away. Then I had all sorts of problems getting it, as I played the game about halfway through the first time, and it wouldn't give me the final part of one of the missions to unlock it, so I restarted. Played the game about 85% through before it finally gave me the right guy on a wanted poster to unlock it. Finally unlocked it, only to have it glitch and take away the ability to change outfits, so I'm stuck in the farming outfit with no option to change. Kind of pisses me off.
Also it was supposed to give me extra missions from what the card says, but unless they are just in the game itself and not DLC I don't think I got anything extra.
On a side note, does anybody else pass a horse in real life and judge it's speed by it's colour, or have I just been playing the game too much?
