In my opinion Jays have a solid pitching staff, the issues will revolve around the hitters. The Jays just won't produce enough runs.
The health of the staff will make or break the team. If they stay relatively healthy than there is some talent there. I don't think any of the current top 5 have ever thrown more than 180 innings in a season before, so as the season wears on we'll see how these guys hold up. If they can get a couple other guys to come in at times and help give these guys some breaks throughout the year it would be a bonus to the staff.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rzep, McGowan, Litsch and Cecil come in and push guys out like Tallet and possibly Eveland (have to see more of him) so they can spot start later in the season.

I'd love to see us sweep the White Sox who have easily become my most hated team in MLB. For having the most annoying homer announcers in the history of sports and Alex Rios.

Could not agree more. Any announcer that uses player nicknames or nicknames they come up with on their own should be calling t-ball games. And as for Rios I lost all respect for him after this incident.........sorry if a fata

I think it's hilarious, i can't watch their games on WGN, it's way to annoying.

That is true but the Jays have other options. Cecil will be the first to be recalled. Litsch should be ready this summer. Plus a few more arms that are in AAA (Purcey etc).
Rios batting .174 this year with as many strikeouts as homeruns. Always a packed house in SkyDome for the home opener so should be a great reception for him.
I want to erase my memory with hard drugs so I can't remember that we almost got Lincecum for this bum a few years ago.

I think it was rumored that the Jays asked for Lincecum, but the Giants said no way, and offered Matt Cain which the Jays declined. So the Lincecum thing to me gets overblown, it was never an option for the team. It's like saying you could trade Vernon Wells for Albert Pujols because that was the offer you made to St.Louis.

I like the Hawk and DJ, always watched them growing up.
I think local announcers should be homers. They're speaking to their fans.
There's a difference between being a homer and an illogical cheerleader though.
Homers are not biased and are critical of their own team when they do something dumb.
Hill says he's ready to go, and fought the team on the decision. But the team doesn't want it to become a lingering issue, so they are sitting him longer to fully heal it.
I'm pretty annoyed that I haven't been able to catch a Jays game yet. Really want to see this team play and hear what all the fuss is about regarding Buck.
Watching that pre-game show I love Aaron Hill's attitude so much, talking about how he knows that when they start winning again the crowds are going to be crazy and how the thought gives him chills
Great enthusiasm and respect for Toronto.
I can't believe they have the record they do the way Overbay, Buck, Snider, Bautista and Encarnacion have been hitting. 5 starters with batting averages .200 or under and they are 5-1. Just seems like they have been cashing in on upwards of 50% of their base runners this year.

That's how to deal with injuries.
Oilers organization, take note.
