Much better season than Neids

Brodeur set HIMSELF up for failure tonight. The guy wandered like a ###### tonight. Luongos pads are better than Brodeur I feel right now.

I feel like a fool right now and if Luongo can't step it up I don't even want to think about how I will feel.
the thing is, Luongo wouldn't have even HAD to "step it up" tonight! An average or maybe slightly above average game by any CDN goalie would have been enough for a win...

Perhaps not but he also doesn't baseball bat pucks to the opposing team and then use a double stacked pads.

This is what hurts the most. Canada the team didn't play perfect but they played MORE than well enough to beat Team USA. Simply playing conservative butterfly and EVEN letting in three goals would have been enough. Team Canada played well enough to put three pucks past Miller who was absolutely outstanding.

I know you hate Luongo and all, but at this point, only a monkey would start Brodeur and support the decision.

Flames fans want Luongo to start and im pretty sure most Canucks fans want Iginla to stay on the 1st line.

What has this world come to?

We are all cheering for Team Canada. We are all sharing the pain right now. In a week we can be at each others throats again but right now ANYTHING to right the ship.

A pretty good game all around by the team, a couple big mistakes and the US gets 5 goals. Luongo needs to start the next game and Canada should be fine. Miller was outstanding in this one and Brodeur made some weak plays. The one Babcock decision that I still don't get is throwing Perry out there with a minute left, why would he do that!!

Anyways, Luongo in net Tuesday, big win sets us up for a nice run to the Gold!

Mel, you more than anyone should know that with Luongo's supersized pads and his butterfly style that doesn't go in

either would the one where Broder went double stack for a shot along the ice, again a butterfly stops that

he also wouldn't have made that lunge for the puck on the 3rd goal that left a wide open net

you do hate him, but he is more in form right now than Brodeur

I know your worst nightmare is Flames fans supporting Luongo, but realistically, even though Luongo hasn't been tested as much, he also hasn't come out and shaken the confidence of fans/players/managment, they way Brodeur has. Luongo should, and will start on Tuesday.

You want to change goalies? Start Fluery, at least he has been to the big dance twice...Luongo's elimination game performances leave something to be desired.

Jumbo Joe plays awfully small.

Marty got cocky on the baseball shot and then got shaky.

I think you could win with any goalie we have. But if you go with Lou next game it might not be so bad. He can melt down once in a while but it is usually on the road. He has been exceptional in GM place this year. And doesn't matter if you hate him or not, he is a goalie that can win a game on his own.

We will probably beat Germany regardless of who plays in net, and it gives the coaching staff a chance to see if Lou is ready and what difference his presence makes on impacting the crowd. People at the game will go crazy if Babbs starts Lou. Intangibles might matter in this tourney.

BTW note to Mike Babcock: Babbs, this is a short tourny, not training camp; pick your lines and show some confidence they will find their way. I mean it.

Yeah we all hate Luongo, but to be honest, I feel more comfortable with Luongo in net than Fleury.

A butterfly goalie who doesn't like playing the puck would have saved the last 3 goals tonight.

I was fine with Brodeur being the goalie, but he just looked bad tonight. Even when he was making saves, he was out of position, giving up rebounds and losing his angles. Sometimes it's not about making the big saves, but avoiding the big mistakes.

As for Joe Thornton, his big-game invisibility is generally hilarious, but in this instance it is infuriating. I have a hard time believing that Stamkos, St.Louis or Lecavalier wouldn't have been better. Heck, even Spezza had been on fire lately. I look at our pedestrian Powerplay and just think how nice it would be to have Stamkos come off the half boards and wire a shot top corner.

Lastly, Iginla must start with Crosby and Nash and stay there.

Should've brought Chris Osgood instead of Luongo too.

I don't hate Luongo. Playing him against Germany isn't much of a measuring stick anyways. This team should win regardless of who is in net, goaltending is not the biggest issue.

Brodeur left the net way too much and set up the puck for goals when he didn't clear it properly.
