If that's the case, then maybe one can save some money by only replacing 3 letters with their Tkachuk jersey and removal of one k
|
You could cut off the leg of the "U" and flip it to make it an "R" then paste that "U" leg to the "C" to make an "E" to save even more! Now you just have to replace the "T" and remove the "K".

Lane Hutson had 66 points in his rookie year. Parekh > Hutson.

Not so much the confidence to wear the mustache, but more the confidence to let his personality show. So often, especially in the NHL, players maintain a pretty boring veneer of professionalism in public.

Parekh is a special player.
I think 30 points is a minimum. He has too much offensive ability for even the NHL to neuter him completely. We saw that in the LA game. I can't recall a d-man scoring the way he did in that game. It looked like a goal a winger would score.
He's the kind of player where creativity and determination intersect where you know one way or another he's going to put up offence from game to game.
Defensively it may not be pretty. But that's ok.

The moustache looks good on him. I'd like to see him grow a real one like it. It would go so perfectly with wearing #89.

The buzz around Monahan and Bennett was also very high. Hell, even Valimaki was getting tons of attention by fans and media.

Well hard to measure hype from the 80s and 90s pre-internet. But Paul Ranheim put up ridiculous numbers in the minors, he was expected to produce. But he had hands of stone and the hockey sense of a golden retriever.

He was still super fun to watch though (and yell at)

Gaudreau had a solid camp of supporters and hype-ers, but also had a large contingent of constant doubters pointing out his size and perceived defensive deficiencies.
Zayne's group of haters is far, far less notable.

I think the poll depends entirely on minutes.
I am deeply concerned that we are not giving him the path to success that he needs and that other prospects of his caliber got. Right now he looks like he'll top out around 13-15 mins a game with 0 pp time. Hard to build consistency and confidence on that diet.
If we get off our ass and trade a RD, I think we can expect 40-50 points. If not, I think 20 is a dream.

When it comes to hyping up players it doesn't really always equate to how promising the player looks or even the draft position, more just how starved we are as a fanbase. During those dire drafting years around 06-10 we'd be hyping up guys we all knew deep down wouldn't pan out lol.

Why would you say he will get 0 PP time? Based on what assumptions?
And what other prospects are you talking about?
Typically it's harder for D to step into the lineup and get big minutes. There is usually some sheltering involved.
Unless we are talking about a guy like Makar. But I view him to be generational, and quite a few levels above Zayne.

Maybe fair, maybe not ... when Makar was Parekh's age, he had just scored 5 goals and 21 points in 34 games in the NCAA and was a year removed from a good, but hardly generational year in the AJHL, of all things. He's a very unique case, kinda like Parekh.
In any event, I'm certain Parekh will get bountiful opportunities on the PP this year. Especially after Rasmus only had 9 power-play points last season.
