The Bombers selected QB Taylor Elgersma immediately after the Stamps selected Vaughn.

I wouldn't expect much from the receivers, maybe the tight end a bit in run packages and play action used a fullback. The offensive linemen may play. The rest of them if they make the team are likely on the teams.
Most of the guys that would be day 1 players who would provide an impact likely wont be in the league right away.

This Stamps team is already much better with the massive upgrade at the QB position. I also think some coaches moving on is a good thing as things had gotten pretty stale. The West will be intriguing this season as I don't really see a dominant team, I mean you could make an argument that the Stamps have the best player at the most crucial position in the division.
Can the Stamps defense stop teams from scoring? I guess we'll find out lol

I think we upgraded our backs. The line is a question mark, but we have the best defensive end in the league who might command double teams opening things up for the new guys.
Linebacker is a question mark.
But the big upgrade is moving on from Monson on D. A proper scheme and play calling can get a unit to work. The changes in coaches like you said will make a difference, it seems like it was an issue last year.
Just having a QB that can throw further than 5 yards is a massive upgrade.

So the Elks were aware that a player they selected in the draft yesterday had tested positive for PEDs and still chose him - That player is ineligible to sign a contract for onc calendar year, by the way.
“The Edmonton Elks organization was aware of Darien Newell’s impending suspension before selecting him on Tuesday night. Throughout the draft process, we completed our due diligence on Darien and came away satisfied with both the person and the player. The organization is committed to supporting Darien throughout this process, and we look forward to when he can join the Green and Gold,” general manager Ed Hervey said in a statement.

Will he even be the same player without all the performance enhancing drugs? This guy was jacked up on a lot of different enhancers.

That's one side, but what about the character side? If you're taking that many PEDs, you know you're cheating. Do you really want a guy with that lack of moral fibre on your team? Obviously Ed Hervey does which also brings his character into question (actually it doesn't, we can go back to his playing days in Edmonton to see what an asshat he was).

Shamefully I know a bunch of stuff on that list being around a bunch of people on gear at the gym. You can't just stop a cycle, you have to cycle off slowly so depending on when he stated a good chance he might be on it still.
Will it impact his performance probably, he will have to find a way to maintain his size and it not turning into fat lol.
Hervey is a massive loser, and has proved it this entire offseason. Hope the Elks flounder big time.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released veteran quarterback Jake Dolegala.
I honestly had no idea he was still on a CFL roster.

The Calgary Stampeders have signed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 CFL Draft, Canadian receiver Damien Alford.
The six-foot-five, 224-pound pass catcher joins the Stamps after attending rookie mini-camp with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Fraser Sopik is retiring.

Quote:
Linebacker Fraser Sopik has announced his retirement from the Canadian Football League after five seasons.
A fourth-round draft pick by the Stampeders in 2019, Sopik re-signed with Calgary in February after spending two seasons in the East Division – one with Hamilton and one with Toronto – but is retiring due to an injury suffered during the off-season.

Not just a starter, but a Canadian starter which really impacts the ratio.

It's a shame he decided this so close to training camp. Maybe has other opportunities and just didn't feel like getting back into shape for the grind.

The league has suspended Zach Collaros for one game...
Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ quarterback Zach Collaros has been suspended one game for failure to respond to Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport officials for an offseason drug test.
According to the CCES, personnel attempted to contact Collaros twice by phone, once by text and once by email over a two-hour period. He failed to respond within 24 hours. In consideration of extenuating circumstances, the CFL has reviewed the situation and suspended him for one game.
