Ok Spurs, you did something well for once.
Nice to see City blown out.

He's 34, turns 35 in May. Definitely done at the top level, he looked terribly slow today.
Liverpool are just slightly better than even odds to win the league now.

That wasn't particularly beautiful, but points is points.
Now, heres a question, what are the rules regarding shin-pads?
I've played with guys that hate them and they use those tiny micro-shinpads, everyone is different, but I found it strange that Dibling (#33) on Southampton is very clearly not wearing any.
And he's not even cleverly attempting to hide it. His socks are down to his ankles. I just thought it was weird.

Is there a rule that you have to wear them? Honestly, I don’t think you need them.

30+ years of watching football and I've never seen a player at any level get away with it either. Some players (Grealish, John Terry) will wear the tiniest shinpads possible, but I've never ever seen a guy wear none at all and then roll his socks down to his ankles.
Great goal from Salah for Liverpool's second. Southampton's style of play is suicidal. Why insist on playing the ball out from the back against teams like Arsenal and Liverpool?

I'm pretty sure there is. I mean...playing soccer all the way up to men's league for years and years, even in Rec, if you dont have shinpads, you cant play.
I remember numerous times where a teammate has forgotten their shinpads and used rolled up paper towel under their socks and hope the ref didn't notice because otherwise you can't play.
Thats why I was confused because, like I said, I know guys that hated wearing shinpads so they got those tiny, tiny ones just to be compliant with the rules, so seeing a player in the EPL who clearly had none because his socks were rolled all the way down? I thought it was odd.

RE: Shinguards
I think there are integrated shinguards with socks to make it look almost unnoticible.
But look at TAA's shinguards, they are no bigger than the size of a DVD...

Yeah, I'm aware, but they still exist though. This guy was very obviously not wearing any at all.

Thing about shinpads, I've used the bigger sized ones, but chatting with other keepers, I've heard of some using youth hockey shinpads in indoor. Funny that.

I've always liked a strong, hard-shell shinpad myself because I was usually liable to make some blocks and/or full blooded tackles.
Never scrimp on the shinpads. Everyone has played with 'that guy' who plays with the 'barely there' pads but that guy isn't going to be a happy camper after blocking a shot or taking a tackle.

Or you could just tough it out and play with no pads?

No way. At least in Rugby they have honour and you know how you'll be tackled. In soccer? Not a chance.

Haha, I played soccer. I know it’s different, but I didn’t wear shin pads playing indoor at all.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still in the EPL? Wasnt he one of United's starters?

And as I've said before, many times, this ain't your grand-pappy's Brighton and Hove Albion, currently 2nd in the PL.
Tomorrow, United play Everton...can an asteroid hit Manchester instead?
