Out here in lotus land many of the Flames games are blacked out. I kept threatening to sign up for Centre Ice so I could watch them. Last night's game was on Sportsnet One so I got to watch. I think I'll hold off on Centre Ice. The disappointing Flames continue.

I thought the Flames played good enough to win during the first 2 periods but completely no showed in the third. I thought Wolf was fine but much of the rest of the team was mediocre to bad.
I think the Zadorov request did impact the team and Backlund told Leslie it was the elephant in the room. Z has called out the team and now demanded a trade which probably pisses many of his teammates off. Ultimately being patient on a trade can help solidify the tank if the room is this broken.

There were a few comments about Conroy not being in the management box last night. It looks like there was an event in Toronto for the HHOF inductees and you can see Conroy in the background of Macoun's interview.
I'm sure no one was actually thinking he was locked in his hotel room trying to hammer out a trade, but this solves the mystery of the missing GM.

I didn't see any pissed off players in that game personally. If someone calls out his teammates one game and then a couple games later goes public with a trade request and the team he called out responds with an apathetic effort I don't know? Maybe he's not wrong?

I think at the very least it was one more thing on their minds. They came out gangbusters and then faded as the game went on.
