Watching this game, the reason Markstrom doesn’t get a lot of easy shots is because Ottawa (and maybe most teams) are deliberately not taking those kind. They pass them up in favour of keeping or dishing to hopefully find a better chance.

Another kind boggling coaching decision. Playing 4th line in last minute of a period.

Backlund isn't a shoot first center. Closest we have is lindholm.

Watching Coronato in the Beanpot final.

He’s going to be a top line player for Calgary….have watched him in multiple games over the last few years.

How about you just take the shot in the slot on your forehand Huby?

Let’s see up by one headed to the 3rd against Ottawa? This is an OT loss.

Flames having a strong 3rd to comfortably close this out would be nice.

This is JM's chance to rebuild some faith with the coaches and fans

Hope he can steer it home

An insurance goal or three would be nice though.

It’s going to be an uphill battle due to the players possibly taking it easy against a “not good” team and with the lead, combined with what will inevitably be slanted reffing to drive a tie / OT outcome.

We’ve seen this many, many, many times the last year.

Firing Sutter is a bad idea. Most considered the team a sure bet to struggle before the 21-22 season. Sutter's system and experience helped turn the tables. This team, this season, has lost arguably their 3 most important players (Johnny, MT, Markstrom (21-22 version)... and are still a bubble team. That's impressive, considering the 3 players that were added as replacements haven't accomplished much this year. The team is very thin on high end talent but Sutter's system is what's keeping the Flames in the playoff hunt.

Yeah, I had them at least at 2. Of course, he was only not playing and held off the sheet last game. But normally on a non Oiler night they know this is SNW and throw them something.
