Assi has been loaned to Ottawa for the season, so he won't be returning.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but Jay Wheeldon reached out to me in regards to sponsorship of the FC U23s as they try to grow League 1 in Alberta. He asked me to forward to anyone that may be interested. Sponsorship amounts are anywhere from 5k-75k.
If this is something you might be interested in, let me know and I can put you in touch. Could also send you what each amount entails as I have the brochure for it.

Sounds like the training camp in Red Deer is a pretty big success. Hearing there are lots of people there from one of the Foot Soldiers who is there and they're selling a tonne of merch.
Nice to see Cavalry really branching out in communities outside of Calgary. Did it last year with their club program and now with this camp. FC Edmonton never made an effort to do that so it's Cavalry's time to swoop in.

Wow that would be a huge add. Sounds like a mutual termination, I suspect it has to do with playing time.
Since defenders Karifa Yao and Lukas MacNaughton both rode the benches for the home-openers in MLS, I suspect there is a way back to MLS for Chung. If he has to take a year in the CPL, it's not the worst thing. That said, I suspect he's going to get picked up by another MLS team and possibly do MSL Next Pro.
If I had to guess I'd put his chances of coming back to the CPL at about 20%, and the Cavs at about 1%.

I'd be surprised if Cavalry could afford Chung. There would be a fit at RB allowing Aird to push up, though.

I agree that it's a pipe dream but would instantly make the team better. He can play either FB spot and did play some CB in a back three. Fun to dream
I agree with Ozy that he'll either be in MLS Next Pro or USL as he looks to get back to hopefully get back to MLS

Sounds like Chung is going to Vancouver FC. That would give them 4, maybe 5 starting worthy players. Looks like it'll be the VFC clubs fighting for last place.

Some of the young players they signed, including from Mexico, seem interesting but probably too young to be impactful this year.

Actually VFC was where I thought he might end up if he came back to the CPL.

I am absolutely stoked for the upcoming season, I really can't wait much longer for the home opener Like Iron Maiden said, I hope this season is going to be absolutely mental

It was an awesome weekend. My boy (11) is just getting into soccer and he had a great time. We were able to watch the team practice and then they had the players lead all the kids through a station based practice. On Sunday they had an intersquad game followed by a meet and greet with all the players. I have come away very impressed and will be bringing my boy down for a few games.

That's awesome to hear. Hope you and your kid enjoy the games. My 3 year old loved it last year so I'm going to try and bring her to the supporters section once this year.

CONCACAF Champions League kicked off last night. I really recommend people tune in and follow it, it is one of the most entertaining tournaments on the planet. You never know what is going to happen
Of note is that next year it undergoes it's format change and the CPL gets entries into the first round!
CPL Champs and CPL Regular Season winner get berths along with the Canadian Championship winner.
CPL teams would've done so much better than Austin FC last night, you can't convince me otherwise

Halifax released their jerseys last night. I like both of these. The away one is really nice IMO. Might have to pick one up when I visit Wanderers Grounds in July.
