Like Boston lol

And the list is already submitted...I doubt he played any games with it, he probably wouldn't mind going back to Boston or Cali if the Flames don't want him.

Piss off, man. You used context to say that Gaudreau has no pride, and doesn't get the game.

Must be a complicated existence to be this hurt over a player gaining free agency to make a choice that you don't like. This isn't even like a break-up. This is a lease expiring, and neither party renewing, and then the neighbour being pissed off at his former neighbour for moving. Just stop slagging the guy with this kind of BS.

I don’t give a #### about Gaudreau leaving, I feel that was going to be a brutal signing at anywhere close to $10MM.

The comment was about professionals in different places in their careers and also yes there is a certain amount of pride. I do believe their are players/people who respects those teams that employed them and won’t purposely sabotage them for leverage. Maybe I’m wrong but don’t think so.

It is over with Johnny but in your example it is like 2 roommates talking and they are saying they both want to renew the lease and at the last second the other decides he is leaving and moving into a worse neighborhood for higher rent which puts the one in a real tough spot.

Johnny left he had the right and Flames fans can hate on him if they so choose. Some can appreciate the time together while others will be sour how it went down. Who cares if someone takes a shot here or there? Johnny is gone, he doesn’t post here, who cares.

Yeah but you specifically said this:

https://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpo...&postcount=317

That has nothing to do with professionals or careers, it was a swipe at pride and whether he'd win or not in CBJ and respect for the team that employed him.

Just admit to yourself that you're mad that Johnny left, and then take a deep breath and realize that he's a grown man that can make decisions how he so feels. He didn't Adam Fox the Flames, he didn't pout and Baertshi, he didn't loophole back into the draft through NCAA, he f-ing came here for 10 years. You wanna be mad, how about looking at the guy that could have signed him?

I don't think this would be the case of not wanting Lucic, it's a potential opportunity to improve chances to win now that would make them move him.

Yeah, some lists can be submitted on an annual basis, I believe. But that is likely due at the beginning of each season, so nothing Lucic could do this off season to steer the ship if knew his name is up for being traded.

Again confused that I care about Gaudreau regards to the Flames, I made a comment about the professional…. Not specific to thr Flames

With Reaves and Wilson being in the East, Boston could just want Lucic to give them added muscle when facing those teams. Tampa still has Maroon and they had the 2nd most fighting majors in the East last year.

We wouldn't be mad if Johnny just wanted to go back home, it's how he went about it that pisses me off. I sincerely believe that it was his plan all along to go UFA and sign elsewhere, and yet he looked into cameras several times and lied about wanting to stay here. We slag Francis all the time, but he was right, and tried to inform us. Johnny could have given management the opportunity a long time ago to trade him and get something for him, but he chose to wait until the 11th hour, and he screwed us over. At least Chucky let Tre know in plenty of time, so he could be traded and luckily, Tre got a good haul-or this franchise would've been set back years. My opinion, but screw Johnny Hockey-we now cheer for Jonny Hockey.

Not sure why people can’t comprehend how difficult Gaudreau’s decision was. The world is not black and white like so many wish it would be.

He gave the team 8 years, fulfilled his draft position + 8 contract years. Hating him for leaving? Grow up, hockey isn’t everything for these guys.

I respect your opinion, but I also think that you've never faced a difficult choice of this magntude. He didn't look into cameras and lie, the guy geniunely liked being here. It's just that things changed. How you're gonna fault a guy for that? Really? Be so hurt over it? In pro sports with men being men? Posters talking S about his wife? Get real. The guy is wayyy closer to home, with less money. Doesn't that tell you something? It's not all about the money for everyone, JG chose what worked best for him and his. And he earned the right to do so, so why you heff be mad? Sounds more like hurt.

Even Eric Francis changed his tune in the last year or so and thought that Johnny would re-sign. He was surprised like everyone else that Johnny left. I believe Johnny when he says it was a difficult decision. Don't think he was lying.

Anyways with Lucic, send him to Boston so he can reunite with his buddies and clear us the cap space for Kadri. Win-win.

I also respect your opinion, and I do believe that he liked it here, but I also believe that the decision to leave was made years ago. I don't really think it was agonized over.

It’s likely both.

He always wanted to get back closer to home. But he was treated like royalty and loved Calgary, hence leaving it till the final day. I truly believe and understand he was in turmoil over those final few weeks.

At the end of the day, he chose his family as his legacy. I won’t hold that against him. Many of us have done the same when it comes to our careers. Funny that it was always a noble position to take until a hockey player took it.

Now that I can really understand. If you see it that way, fine. I don't, but agree to disagree. It's the poeple that think that he waited until 11:59 on July whatevertheF and deliberately "screwed" the Flames that I really can't understand.

The guy was here for a decade. He did not leave on a whim. Well, actually, I think he did. But it took ten years for that to be the case.

Came to read about the Lucic/Boston rumor and got transported back to July for more psychoanalysis of Gaudreau.
