I'm blown away how this looks on paper. Still a body away from being as good as last year, but they are damn close. Get those extensions done and this is a huge win for the club.
What happens with Lucic and Monahan now? Treliving needs to move Lucic and use that money to grab another forward in some way. Still need one more proven scorer up front.

I’m as pro rebuild as anyone, but.
Huberdeau is 2 months older than Gaudreau. He’s had 4 straight PPG+ seasons.
If we were okay giving Gaudreau 8x$10.5m at his size, I don’t see a vast difference giving Huberdeau 8x$9.76M or whatever.
6 ft 1, 201 lbs vs 5 ft 9 160 lbs.
Plus Weegar?
It’s a far cry from Stajan, Hagman, Mayers and White, give it that much.

Yeah people forget some of the players being discussed - Bratt, Robertson in particular, are actually without contracts at the moment, and are probably asking close to Huberdeau’s ask.

This is still sinking in...I don't get it.....Huberdeau is better than Tkachuk...and they threw in a legit top 4 d-man, who's both physical and can put up points and gave us a 1st? Why? Why would they do that? Is there a catch? Is one of the players cursed? Are they about to expose some gigantic Huberdeau scandal? What is happening?
I mean Huberdeau is unsigned....but we can flip him.
