Well, you wouldn't make fun of someone with cancer.
And that is similar to the health impact being dramatically overweight has on your body.
I dont think we should be publicly doing it, and it shouldn't be shame based, but we should treat super overweight people like addicts imo. They are addicted to sugar usually.
Most people with cancer would be ecstatic if they were told their treatment consisted of getting more active and eating healthier, so your comparison is way off base.
I don't like "fat shaming", but at the same time, we (as a society) shouldn't necessarily be shrugging off unhealthy behaviours.
I do think that "super obese" people are special cases, when it comes to how they could be handled. Either it's a physical problem, or a mental issue. But treating it just with "eat better and walk more" isn't an option at a certain point.
Is it weird that I wanted this for myself too? Not Robinson, that's not my last name, much less common. There's one player who got drafted with same last name a few years ago and I was planning on buying his jersey as soon as he became an NHLer (unless it was Edmonton or something).

Unfortunately he appears to have fizzled.
#### no - you do you. Who cares what anyone else thinks? And for anyone that doesn't like it, who says their opinion is right and yours is wrong?
(However, if you're thinking 'Big Stud 69', maybe sleep on it first)

Lol. Fat shaming was the best thing my friends ever did for me. Got me back on track and made me lose 45lbs. I have zero problem with it, but I am no longer fat...so my opinion probably doesn't matter lol.
At my peak I was 340 lbs. It took alot of my close friends really harping on me to look in the mirror and make the changes. I honestly didnt feel that fat until people started commenting on it (I'm super tall). Now i'm down to 245 and feel amazing.
Some disabilities you can't control. Being fat is in your own hands and people shouldn't coddle someone cause of their feelings when its a sure path to an early death and serious avoidable health conditions.
EDIT- I liken it to smoking. Smoking is addictive and isn't easy to quit. I used to be a 2 pack a day smoker and quit. I've shamed a few friends into quitting. Unhealthy habits shouldn't be ignored cause you don't want to hurt someones feelings.

Yeah, I am not remotely convinced of this. There are plenty of people who struggle mightily with their weight and body image regardless of what they do. "Shaming"may have worked for you and that is great; but I expect that it is more often harmful than helpful.

Well I wouldn't condone calling some random off the street a fat ass. So i hope your not thinking that. But if you have a friend who is over weight or putting on sudden weight you shouldn't be shy to let them know about it in whatever way is appropriate to your kind of relationship with said person. You literally may be saving their life.
When it comes to a professional athlete who it was reported had come into camp overweight gets ribbed online over it. I don't think its something to ruffle anybodies feathers that's not just looking to be sensitive over anything. I doubt his "fat" is even what my body shape is now or at any point of my life even. People taking slight of it must spend the day seeking things to take offence over.
What a comeback for that team. Just committed and went to work! The players are to be fully commended bc WPG is a good challenge (like every opponent this year).
Big contributions from everyone. It looks easy from tv to point at things but that game was fast paced. These guys are all incredible athletes. With all the covid rules too.

It's great that you overcame your weight and lifestyle. Sure, there are some overweight people that just don't care about being overweight, but most actually do. Maybe hearing this perspective might make you understand why 'fat shaming' is so harmful. Most people are not oblivious to the fact that they are overweight, and that it causes health issues.

It is worth pointing out that last night was the fifth time in the last six games that the Flames came out of the first period without a goal, and with the opposing team ahead. It was the third time they have been outscored 2-0 in the first period. Since opening night the Flames have scored two first-period goals, and allowed eight. And yet, they have now won two of those games, and have managed to at least force a third-period tie in four of them.
My biggest complaint about the Flames right now is the first period. If they fix that, then this team could be dynamite.

I didn’t think they were bad in a couple of those first periods, eg last night. I think they were at least even 5 on 5 in the first.

Yeah- I'm guilty of screaming play faster but perhaps it's just more poise especially in the first. But I know they will figure it out. They clearly can see how well they're capable of playing from all these periods under their belts.

Agreed. And I think it will come around.
While watching them through the first two periods I thought that the main culprit looks like nerves to me, and who can blame them for that? The way several of the last games have unfolded in the early going has been incredibly unfortunate and likely demoralizing. I think the bewildering inability for a high number of players to get pucks on net is a product of their own frustration with not getting a lot of the results they probably deserve.

The decision on who shoots in the SO will have a couple factors
If a coach knows a guy is feeling it on any particular night, he might go that way regardless of previous results.
But moreso a lot of his decision is made in practice when they do these drills frequently. Guys who practice the best usually get the call...in most situations.
Could be as simple as Leivo has been really good during those SO drills whereas Johnny hasnt....so you go with what you've seen work everyday.
