Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't he in the group of first cuts at training camp this season? Normally reserved for their junior players, and a sign on how the club views him IMO. Did he even get in a preseason game?
Once that occurred, I was convinced he was on his way out of this org.

Was the muffin shot sarcasm or was that Beck that had a really good shot? Pretty sure at least one of them did.

Yeah he was in the "non-game" group for most of the camp, was cut early, and didn't get a pre-season game.
His usage/treatment by the org has been a bit weird TBH.
You have to take some of these stats with a grain of salt but based on "Game Score" he was one of the better U-23 forwards in the AHL last season too, but he was just stapled to the 4th line / press box at times.

Would love to hear what Conroy / Pascall have to say about him because there must be something in his game they have been asking him to improve.

I sometimes wonder if he had a fitness issue or something. He wouldn't be the first that got a wake up call and responded. However, I don't know this happened, I am completely speculating and don't want to start a completely unfounded rumour. If someone who knows more can refute this, please do.
I was a bit surprised he was sent down so early as well. Nice to see he is doing well now.

Cull mentioned that fitness was an issue last season for Kerins

I remember the buzz from his juniors career and wondered why he wasn't given much of a look at this camp. I've been interested in following his progression, and hardly remember getting a look at him this year.
Tsk, tsk, Connie.

If you wanna make the show and not do the gym, you gotta score like Phil the thrill, then you can eat hotdogs between periods all you want.

Guessing he didn’t get a look at camp because it seemed like Kadri/Backlund/Rooney were locks and Pospisil was the shiny new thing at center. They seemed deadset on making that work and probably weren’t entertaining others at C much. Now they have Costco and Kerins screaming look at me, look at me.
Seemed like the young D were getting all of the attention at camp as D was a lot less settled.
Guess it’s good to have younger players pushing. Gives you more options.

In his final year of junior with the Greyhounds, Kerins! put up an incredible 118 points, which was 39 points more than his next closest teammate- Tye Kartye, who now plays for the Seattle Kraken, and was a year older.
Some take longer to develop, and maybe there's something here....

At no point in Kerins career so far has he ever been someone that can’t produce. Why the org has been treating him as an afterthought has been baffling. Good to see the hot start, while he’ll definitely cool off maybe the team could start taking him a bit more seriously.

9 years, 88 million with 80 million paid in the 9th year, that’ll keep the AAV at 1 million …… right?

Refuted:
Maybe the fact that he only scored 32 points in the AHL last year made them want him to get another taste down there and take a step forward before getting his NHL shot.
