If the Flames suck, so do game threads. When they are kicking ass, game threads are delirious with positivity. It’s just the way of things.

No it's fine, even though tkachuk scored 3x as many points as Bennett last year they are obviously in the same tier.
Don't you know anything about hockey? Bennett is the best Centre on the team!

I’m confused by this. Were you expecting sunshine and roses after the Flames got scored on?

Talbot is playing okay for a guy who hasn't played in weeks...I mean bad bounce and two high end chances

Talbot was way out of his net for the third goal.

He made a terrible play. His IQ is literally 100 times better than Bennetts though.
Good thing he actually can play forward and contribute offensively though...unlike your golden 5th year boy who averages about 300th a year.
Now...curious to know what that table you posted means to you.
Cause if I'm reading it right, a line of Czarnik, Mangiapane and Jankowski with Andersson and Kylington on D, and that should be the go to 1st line and d pairing...yes?
Watching hockey off of spread sheets...must be a blast.

Such a frustrating game. They look so much better in general: good forecheck, great execution, winning puck battles but 2 missed breakaways and an unlucky goal against and they’re down by two. Need a strong 3rd but not insurmountable.

I loathe everything about October, including and especially the consistent losing from our home team this month. Sometimes we are just so predictable.

Lucic better put on his super serious face in the intermission to show the team he is serious about winning.

On the outside of the crease playing the shooter, and backing in, and the puck carrier passed early

Reider has played almost 10 minutes and I didn't know he was even in the game.

Flames' October record in past playoff seasons:
2018-19: 7-5-1
2016-17: 4-5-1
2014-15: 6-4-2
2008-09: 6-3-1
2007-08: 6-3-3
2006-07: 3-6-1
2005-06: 4-7-2
2003-04: 4-4-0-1
A 2-3-1 start certainly isn't out of the realm of plausibility. And this game isn't over, not by a long shot.

Flames are definitely consistent in that department. Mediocre Octobers.

Frustrating to see points slip away but I feel like the Flames haven't played badly to start the season (other than a couple of awful opening periods). They have carried the play for long stretches in every game and they've looked much better than Sharks tonight.
Those 2 missed short handed breakaways are looming large.
