Ferland would destroy any Flame easily.
Hamonic? Lol.

um, ya, flames don't have anyone at the level of Ferland, I'm sure the only guy who could at least take him on is Hamonic, but even then, Ferland has a substantial advantage.
Of course, I'm not advocating that the flames need to carry someone in that weight class.

Sounds about right... exactly what happened in the playoffs too.
Ferland has concussion issues, I doubt he is running around looking for fights.

I hope no one too, but Ferland loses from time to time and almost always gets hit hard even when he wins. The main reason I hope never is that Ferland is one bad punch away from retirement.

I wonder if the Flames should just forfeit their games vs the Canucks when Ferland is in the lineup? The reality is that if Ferland gets into a fight the biggest concern should be for his health and not his opponent's.

I don't think anyone is suggesting the Flames scuttle away in fear of Ferland. The question was asked who on the Flames would potentially fight Ferland if he wanted to fight and Hamonic is probably the best choice. He'd likely lose but anyone else would probably lose in worse fashion.

Sam is an emotional fighter, but not a good one.
Such wiiiiide swings. Ferland is a lot more straight forward. Would not be a pretty fight.

He didn’t say ‘win’. I would think it would be Hamonic as well, but we don’t really have anyone in his class.

So ferland can beat up anyone as long as he doesnt take a big shot to the head....
I still think the Flames will get Reaves, he would keep every other team honest and Ferland wouldn't think about doing anything

Assuming Bennett is due $2.5M or so from whichever team negotiates his next deal, thats kind of a wash for Vegas who needs cap space more than anything.
A pick for Reaves might work, or Czarnik for Reaves which saves them some money on an equal term I suppose. But because its in division there might be a bigger ask from Vegas as they can probably unload Reaves anywhere in the league for the same type of deal(s).
That being said I am certain the Flames still would want Reaves, so who knows.

Ferland isn’t some goon. He barely fought when he was with the flames and he won’t be fighting much on the Canucks. Ferland has a rep for being a great fighter but he doesn’t really fight

I suppose this is a reflection of the changing game. Fighting in 6/82 regular season games is a relatively low rate, but if he is leading the league, just another indication that fighting ability doesn’t actually matter much anymore.
