Not a great day to be tipping your pitches. They are clearly talking about him showing something.

What happened to Kershaw? Just a season ago I'd put him as the best pitcher in the game for about 4 seasons. He's an amazing talent. If it's mental, I'd deal to get him. He's a generational talent, and if baseball was more soft on the ballot box, his talent would bring him to the HOF. He's an unreal player and if he's available I'd be more than willing to get him. The question is at what cost?

He is arguably the best pitcher of his generation. Just can’t seem to figure it out in the Playoffs. And with the Dodgers being perennial playoff team they need someone who can get it done. It’s an enigma really but must be in his head at this point.

Not loving that Astros bats went ice cold after that crazy first. Cole looks amazing but still nervous as hell.

Well not the way I was hoping to finish this year but no shame losing to the astros. Can’t wait to see them stomp the Yankees. Pretty much our whole staff is back next year looking forward to 2020.

Thanks for the memories this week rays. It felt magical like 08 but we got beat by the best pitcher in baseball.

Houston’s rotation will be all messed up for the next series, the Yankees will take them in 5.

2 starts each for Greinke, Cole and Verlander on regular rest. Yankees will have to win 3 of those games at minimum.

The ALCS is pretty much worse case scenario:

Yankee win: I'm not sure I can stand watching the Yankees win as the old "pay to win" is really starting to wear on me as a baseball fan

Astros win: Everything thinks that tanking is a good idea because look at Houston

Pretty much a no win scenario here.

The Cards have 1 losing season in the last 20 years and are pretty much the model franchise in the MLB. So I can easily appreciate the Card’s for what the represent, not so much the Astro’s.
It’s not spin and I don’t need a google search to understand how the Astros were built. They were bad. Previous ownership and management spent money on bandaids and emptied out the farm system. New ownership prioritized scouting, analytics and patience.

The difference between Astros and Cardinals? Cardinals have been doing it like that forever and Astros only since Luhnow became GM and Crane’s ownership group took over.

Teams that tank trade away talent under team control in effort to lose.

Sanchez in the 8th has a no hitter on the go.

No hitter broken with 2 outs in the 8th on a 3-2 blooper

Would have been interesting if that had been walk instead. Does Sanchez stay in?

I agree with your take and have no skin in this argument. Most years there’s not a big difference between #1 #5 or even #15 picks. It’s not like other sports where #1 picks are guaranteed stars. A lot of teams get to the point where their payroll gets up there but they’re not competitive due to a bunch of bad contracts and need to reset. It seems the trend among the well managed teams is to shy away from long term 9 figure deals that only pay off for a year or two and kill the future with the goal to be competitive every year.

Cardinals bats are ice cold right now. 1 hit in the last 19 innings. They do have several foul tips though.

Torres having himself a night. Yankees gonna be impossible to beat if they get quality starts from their pitching.
