A Bennett suspension would be laughable even by nhl standards. The Sharks goalie is the one that needs a suspension. That was the dirtiest play I've seen in a while.

I so want all 5 guys on the ice playing against Karlsson to balance on one leg and ask him if he has what it takes to be a captain

They have a relationship outside the game as Burns sons favorite player is Tkachuk. They exchanged signed sticks at one point so I’m sure Burns was thinking man my sons going to be pissed if I fight this guy.
Also why are people jumping down Francis’ throat just cause Bennett bounced a puck off him for a goal? Like that clears all of his problems? You realize in an interview Commodore who is a friend of Neals said that he wasn’t happy with the time he was getting and when he signed he expected a first line role and then we traded for Lindholm. I’m sure his team mates love him but I wouldn’t be surprised at all to hear that he has rifts with management over where his role has gone with this team. Just cause he went and scored a fluke goal right after Francis said that doesn’t really negate that it could be true.....

I watched that closely, and maybe I’m dreaming...
I think they like and respect each other. Remember when Chuvky stole Burns stick? And then Burns signed one for him, like no need to steal it dude.

The trade for Lindholm happened before Neal signed. Now maybe there was some promise to have him get first line duties, but he has to know Lindholm was up for the spot too and that it just wasn’t his.

Burns has some strange affinity for the Flames, or at least some of their players. Didn't he also chum around with Gaudreau (ASG perhaps?) as well as give Rittich & Andersson a lift back to their hotel last year?
Dude likes Flames.

Whoops I’ll have to go back and relisten. Regardless he very carefully skirted around saying that Neal was unhappy here with his situation. If your player sympathetic it can be easily looked at one way and if your management sympathetic it can be looked at as an “attitude” problem.
I just love all the people thinking cause he literally has a puck bounced off him to FINALLY score and it somehow means everything’s been peaches and roses. And to be honest I’ve never bitched about Neal ONCE if we stay the number 1 team in the west and become a cup contender but it means Neal is out there and never scored a goal again for the rest of his contract id be the happiest man on the planet.
Wether he’s putting points up or not we obviously have a team with great chemistry and his borderline zero point output is still apart of that so scoring or not you’ll never hear me say I want him out of here. Now wether Peters feels the same I don’t know?

Entertaining game. Both teams very opportunistic and made the most of their scoring opportunities. Real chippy third. Several plays the league should be reviewing. Kane is a real punk and his actions really escalated the tenor of the game. Refs lost control of this early in the third. I don’t normally comply about the job the refs do, but this crew needs to be reviewed. They did a horrible job controlling a game.

Nice to see Backlund get those two early goals. It had been looking like his offense had completely dried up. They were important in getting the team rolling last night.

Gaudreau is Burns’ son’s favourite player, not Tkachuk. There have been many stories about it.

Frankly, I think the Flames were just taking the NHL's stance to heart. They determined that Dumba going for a devastating hit late in a decided game wasn't a problem. So Bennett did likewise. It sounds like others have clocked his hit at 0.6 seconds after passing the puck as well, which is the guideline. The hit itself was by the book, and Bennett didn't even come flying in for a huge hit late, he was chasing the puck and caught someone stupidly admiring their pass.
|
All I heard on the radio building up to the Game was how the Sharks were treating this as if it were a playoff game and how they expect to meet cgy in the playoffs. It sure felt like it while it was being played. But then all they can do after the game is cry and whine how the game ended.
Sore losers imo. Take your lumps, say you go beat and move onto the next.

The hit by Dumba wasn't met with a suspension and it was just as "late" (read: not late) and it included head contact.
There's no chance Bennett gets suspended.
...unless of course the Department of Player Safety is just as inconsistent and incompetent as the referees are...

DOPS will spin the wheel of justice and determine the appropriate result is reversal of Gaudreau's last goal in the third.
Because apparently that's how the NHL operates these days...

If Bennett gets suspended for that this league is a complete joke. A CLEAN hit that was at worst marginally late.
If anyone needs supplemental discipline it's Dell for that disgusting spear and the two idiotic, blind and STUPID refs who somehow managed to not call an obvious penalty there. How is it even possible for neither official to see and/or call that????
