I think now makes sense, they’re in trouble and this is a Hail Mary attempt. Buys Chia more time.. good for us!

I think this is a brutal move for the Oilers so I love it. I don’t see him bringing in a style that makes this a better team

2 huge positives for Oiler fans.

1. Gulutzan not taking over
2. Hitch only having the rest of the season on his deal it means Chiarelli’s seat is red hot.

Looks like he could sit in jeering distance from the bench!

I dont understand why hes so upset, they've been doing this for over a decade and just now hes understanding this? Just now he realizes that Oilers management have been stunningly incompetent?

The media have been blowing smoke up the Oilers' asses for a decade despite them being nothing but abjectly terrible but now this is the last straw?

I’ve always found it as one of the most annoyingly over used statements. It literally makes me groan aloud when I read someone trying to be witty and use this quip for the billionth time on this forum.

You would think after the billionth time, they could expect a different result and it wouldn't annoy you so much. That seems like insanity.

Sid still didn't go after who is ultimately responsible for everything. And that's MacT and Lowe. They should be jettisoned from that organization before they do anything else. I mean if they want to build something special up there, those two jack hats that have been there the entire time that franchise has sucked need to go.

Cant blame bob Nicholson or Gretz, they haven't been around long enough.

But the fun thing is, none of those guys are going anywhere. Chia will go and leave a damning mark on that roster that they can almost not come back from.

I mean whats left for the outside of McJesus and Draisaitl? Yammamoto? Poolparty?

They have nothing to deal that can get them the kind of help they need.

How good would Barzal make that team? It's truly comical.

they'll be no good forever because the owner is essentially a toy collector.

Chiadenfreude indeed. Take pleasure in the failure of others.

Which team? Neither one wanted him. Would you go to a restaurant and sit next to a table that contained the last two girls that dumped you?

So McDavid and Draisatl will be responsible for scoring 1 or 2 goals a game and the rest of the team will be in a defensive shell to limit shots and goals.

This is pretty crazy when you think about it. The Oilers have always prided themselves on being free wheeling offense first teams. Have they ever had a defensive coach or system?

This goes against everything that Lowe, McTavish, Gretzky and the 80's Oilers represent.
