They scored four in the third period and no empty netters last year in a bad home game against Edmonton.

I'm also pretty sure after the Bennett scrap he calls the guy a "little bitch" which made me laugh.
They scored 7 in a period in 88, so definitely more recently than that, but it’s still a big showing.

And yeah, the swagger that Bennett has been playing with this season is such a huge boost for this team. Bennett is quickly becoming one of those top 9 guys that teams need to win. Can’t wait to see how this season shakes out for him.

December 4, 2016 -- Flames beat the Ducks 8-3 in Johnny's first game back after his broken finger. Flames scored 5 straight goals in the second period:

Smith is bad lately but the team isnt doing him any favours with regards to traffic in front. When you have 3 flames practically standing in the crease it draws alot of traffic.

Smith also looks like he's forgotten how to move into shots, seems to be trying to keep his body stationary and flinch at shots. I wonder if he may be fighting a nagging lower body or back injury, as he looks slow and awkward compared to even the start of the season. Wouldnt surprise me if he's playing through pain to try and get another contract.

Also sigalet...man...every goalie starts playing on the goal line after about a season of being here. Its like he thinks all goalies need to play like lundquist.

Benzo is a beast.

I still don’t understand any of these, at all. Are they funny? What are they? WHY are they? The images never match the narrative, and Flames lose then Flames win? That’s not funny! Losing isn’t funny! Why is the Asian lady and the weird meme dog always trying to play “gotcha”? I watched the game, I followed the score, I know they didn’t lose! You can’t trick me! I can’t be tricked!

And why do we credit people for them? For putting a couple words on an image that already makes no sense? Why are they a classic? What’s a classsic anyway? Are these the Anna Karenina of Flames memes? WHAT is HAPPENING?

lol

Valimaki took two strides towards the play that was developing. Then the pass went to the player in front of him. He turned slightly and took half a stride (more like a glide) towards the player he hit.

I get that people like to have non-homer opinions, but try to be real here - there was nothing similar about those hits. Cole skated across the ice and left his feet. Textbook charging. Valimaki read the play, lined the guy up, and took him out of the play with a clean, non-violent check.

Not even close to comparable.

(though, why I am responding to a troll is a question I should be asking myself)

That wasn't a penalty five years ago, let alone 20. And it shouldn't have been one last night, even though it was a Flame victimized by a suicide pass.
Skates across the ice to hit him, then leaves his feet. It was the most blatant charge I have seen this year.

This exactly.

I agree that Cole's hit was a charge, but I don't think whether or not a player leaves his feet should be the point of decision on whether or not a hit is good or bad. Depending upon the force of the hit, both players in several instances will be lifted off of their feet. This also happens with hits that I would deem as perfectly clean.

For me, it was enough that Cole targeted Jankowski and skated across the ice to blow him up. It also looked to me like he got his arm up high when he hit him. I am undecided about whether he left his feet while launching into Jankowski, or whether it was the hit itself that carried him off his feet.

Bennett certainly played a role again, and as others have said he's getting into those dirty intangibles that make him valuable despite a lack of production.

But he could have easily scored in the first (Hamonic pass and tip), and he had an elite setup for Jankowski in the second (tipped wide) and had a two point night.

His inability to either get or setup high danger chances and come away with nothing is insane.

I'm pretty sure I saw Cole having words with Bennett earlier in the game. I think they wrestled in a scrum too.

I thought Ryan had a really good game last night. He's taking some deserved criticism on here but he was really effective last night. I thought earlier in the season, he just wasn't battling enough for pucks, but he has been doing that a lot more recently.

He's not skilled enough to not be battling hard every shift. Hope he keeps this up.

He might not score 30 points this year, but if he can be a top faceoff guy and "anchor" that fourth line, he will still be useful.
