It's usually Bennett and Brodie, two guys who are perceived to have potential but aren't realizing it with the Flames, i.e. assets whose value might be higher than their performance.

There is no point in making a trade just to over pay for an RW. Honestly we might be better off just trying Bennett or foo or ferkland until something sticks. That has better value than opening up a hole on d which we likely can’t fill until next offseason

If we're gonna trade a top D man, I'd much rather it be Brodie. Hamilton still has way too much upside. If they do end up trading him, the return better be worth it. Like legit top 6 RW worth it.

The last thing we would want is something where Carolina flipped Hamilton to Edmonton for Puljujarvi. I think if we make the trade it needs to be Brodie+

Brouwer on the powerplay wasn’t even GG’s most baffling lineup choice.

He came into his first season thinking Grossman was a good partner for Hamilton and that Wideman should be on the top pairing with Giordano.

But apparently Peters is a huge fan on juggling his lineups game to game, whereas GG would stick with something that clearly wasn’t working for an excessive amount of time.

per Lebrun, Lindhom is asking for north of $5 mil per. Canes only offering north of $4 mil per. If he does not sign, Dundon has ordered Wadell to trade Lindholm. Flames remain interested but a number of other teams are watching the situation.

I initially thought these rumours seemed strange as both teams have a surplus of defence and need offence. After some thought it might work though with the Flames having cap space to pay the Canes RFAs and the Canes likely looking for players locked up at a reasonable salary like Hamilton.

Bring on the draft and trades already!

north of 5 million?

doesn't that seem a bit high based on what this kid has done...?

hopefully that's an exaggeration or just an negotiating ploy

5x5 or 6x5 and it'll be a value contract. by year three.

He's a centre/right wing who has 4 straight 40 pt season (39, 39, 45, 44) while being strong in the face-off circle.

He's worth 5M - and I'd happily give him an 8 year, $40M-$43M contract.

Yip. Makes more sense to give that contract to lindholm than risk another Brouwer type situation in free agency.

Kinda similar to the Hamilton situation when he was in Boston? Maybe doesn't want to stay there?

if carolina's offer of 4 is accurate, you could say the same thing about Carolina wanting him to stay

In any scenario where Hamilton is traded, I'd love to see Giordano with Hamonic as a top pair.
So maybe the genius all along was to keep them separate.

Gulutzan, you sly dog.

Keep in mind we don't know how many UFA years are being bought in LeBrun's report. Lindholm is 2 years away from UFA.
