Is their strategy seriously to fire pucks into the goalie's chest to maximize Corsi and totally ignore the game (and the goal) of hockey?

More or less. Another issue is you move in 5 man units. 2 or 3 guys decide to go into business for themselves and that throws the rest into disarray. System is toothless and creativity dies on the vine.

I have to admit, as much as I would be pissed it would be kinda hilarious to see the boards response if BT fired Gully and replaced him with Dallas Eakins.
Lol, no. What they need is an experienced & proven coaching staff, some scoring help up front, and a new system and PP that better utilizes the team's strengths, and dump some of the dead weight on our bottom 6.
There's no reason this roster shouldn't be in a playoff spot. They've underachieved big time this year.

An addendum...Jankowski and Bennett need to have a phenomenal summer and make an impact, consistently , next season. A lot more is expected of them.
The roster will be a lot better when that happens.
I know it’s beating a dead horse, but Troy Brouwer should be ashamed of himself. One of the most embarrassing and pathetic players ever to play here. I’m not saying that because he’s bad, I’m saying that because he looks like he got his pay day and has mailed it in ever since coming here. At least Stajan puts in a solid effort every night.
All that time on the top PP unit and the guy only has 6 goals? Buy him out.
