So the powerplay doesn’t miss a beat with Stone replacing Hamilton so what does our genius coach do next power play? Screws it all up by putting Brouwer out there and they spend 2 minutes passing the puck around the perimeter!!

He did that last game too after a weak goal. Maybe it is a good thing if he gives up a softy every start.

Not really, all they did was pass it around the outside. Without the big shot threat from the point, the Avs didn't have to do much to defend it.

Completely idiotic to not use Stone in Dougie's absence. Especially since they just scored with Stone a few minutes before!

Seeing Brouwer back on the PP makes me even more appreciative of the miracle of Hamilton finally being elevated there. Clearly that was a mistake that they just had to roll with until they had a reason to reignite the Brouwerplay.

Another solid period. Hopefully they can put the hammer down and close this out in the 3rd.

They got shots and had a bunch blocked. It was good.

Perhaps this season has lowered my PP expectations, but it their puck retrieval was great and that can be key to a PP.

Of course, the slow passing and little player movement remains, but that's been our PP all season.

My 7 year old nephew gets angry when he sees Brouwer on the powerplay.

I'm proud of him.

Even Hamonic would have been a better option before Brouwer. RHD seems to work...Duh.

StatsCentre @StatsCentre
Mark Giordano's 1st period goal tonight tied him with Paul Reinhart for the 3rd most career goals (109) by a defenceman in @NHLFlames franchise history

They had 3 decent chances on that pp the best of which Johnny chose to pass
A pp like that will score regularly

lol, they had zone time the entire powerplay. a full 2 minute zone possession where they outworked colorado for every loose puck until the Flames unit was too tired to maintain possession for longer.

But brouwer was out there so my feeble mind can't comprehend anything good happening.

Fire Glue Gun, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Monahan gets the puck in his sweet spot 3 times on the PP, misses the net twice and gets one blocked and the coach screwed up.

Give it a rest.

"Hey Stone, nice job on that PP getting the shot through so that Monahan could deflect it in. Sit your ass on the bench while I give Brouwer your spot on the next PP." -- GG
