Flames need to stand up at blue line more, don't make it so easy to gain zone. On their breakouts use the middle. Ducks are taking boards away.
But most importantly they need to up the work rate. Compete, win some battles and just play with some pride.
It's been a no show

Hamonic is not a good player. He reminds me of a poor man's Cory Sarich but at least Sarich was physical, would throw big hits and had some defensive hockey IQ.
What the hell was that breakout he tried to make by standing still and then trying to slapshot it up the ice. Such a low percentage play. Of course it gets picked off.
So disappointing and underwhelming thus far.

Tkatchuk, gotta love him.
Top line played piss poor. I hate seeing Brouwer and Stajan on the ice. It makes me feel ill. I have no qualms with calling the coaches and the gm out for being no good in continuing to play these useless plugs.

Maybe he is right.
But that was an outrageous number of hard cross checks ignored by the refs. They ignored a sweet one by Stone also. So 8 to 1.

He's a smaller, non-physical, center, who had motivation problems in New Jersey.
Sorry to be snarky, but there's ZERO reason for the Flames to trade for him.
Anaheim had a need and he's filled it. End of story.

It was a ducks pp (Backlund still in box after 4 on 4) he tried to ice/clear the puck.
