There is a better chance that the Cowboys tent won't smell like puke by this weekend than there is of Iginla signing in Calgary. That is to say, no chance in hell. ZERO

E5 - Cowboys to bring in additional janitorial staff pending trade call with the league.

Just to clarify, Cowboys and Nashville tents smell like puke an hour into opening night.

What else did they say about the Flames? Curious to know how they feel about Calgary in light of all the off-season moves.
Mostly good and positive, overall.
On Smith - kinda meh - neither here nor there. One of the guys said, specifically, that Smith and Elliott are similar quality goalies and he was sad to see Elliott go because of the one horrible goal which could happen to anyone. He did say that fans and owners wanted Elliott's head and he understood why management had to make a change. All agree that even great goalies cannot continuously be great in a vacuum for more than a few-game streaks. Goalie and defense are part of one system. A goalie needs time to get used to defensemen's and coaching styles to play his best. This may take more than a season, unfortunately.
On defense - should be one of the best in NHL next season.
On Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk and Bennett - they absolutely need strong veteran presence and mentoring in the room and on ice.
Think that Brouwer will work hard to recover from the dull season and prove he's still a good player.
On Gulutzan - good honest coach. Hopefully, things work out well before the team's next losing streak.
... So, nothing earth-shuttering or eye-opening.

4) Those players would definitely have insight into this, and I would only be guessing where Jagr is concerned....
On these two points:
They all said Iginla would not hesitate to step in and fight to protect a young player, when needed. What's more, young players are getting picked on less when Iginla is on ice because other team players know this too. Jagr will not fight. This would be the key difference between the two.

It's fun to let the imagination run wild andb be excited for a bit. 99% chance he pulled that "rumor" straight from his ass, but I am allowing myself to believe.
It's fun.
Bring home Jarome!

Not this BS narrative again. The reason the team couldn't progress during those years was talent. The team was dreadful at drafting for years up on years and couldn't supplement the aging core with the type of young talent that it has now.
To blame the woes of the team on the guy who gave all the best years of his career and his best performances in this jersey is completely off the mark.
Also, if Gio is so fragile that bringing in an aging veteran is going to shake his captaincy the Flames have bigger problems (he's not that fragile, nor has Iginla ever been one to create controversy in a dressing room).
I totally agree. He was never much of a leader....i'll grant that. But he was a stud for many years.
I think the Flames have the defense to get the job done and we could use a veteran presence for the young guys. A nice run would provide a good situation for Iggy to retire within the organization.
If the team goes on a Cinderella run the whole city might catch the wave and suddenly you have the "we believe"; That would be a lot of fun even if we came up short!
Would Iggy rise to the occasion? I am guessing the old guy would be inspired and hungry to do it now with this group. Anyone who slashes Johnny would be helmetless, pounded into submission. Johnny would start to play like the guy we all remember. Potential is there for lots of feel good stories. I would even go as far as to say a lot of teams and players would be rooting for Iggy!
I am fine with either Jagr or Iggy if the price and term are a fit. I am thinking the shoe probably fits Iggy a little better but Jagr would be fine!

He did get in touch with me, but doesn't want to post the information on the site, which is certainly his right.
If true, it's a typical CP rumour where someone that knows someone knows Iginla kind of thing so take it for what it's worth. (hope that isn't saying to much, let me know if it is)
Give the guy respect for following the channels.
If true will be an interesting week!
