Why? It's a duscussion board and I'm discussing, what's your problem?
When someone replys to my post and says something as silly as Stone's knee surgery in his sixth season as a 26 year old kept him from developing I will respond with how silly that assertion that is.

The wording was clumsy, I'll grant you. I believe CGY12's point was that Stone's market value tanked this year because he was recovering from major surgery in his last season before becoming a UFA. For a marginal #4 defenceman on a rental, a third-round pick is reasonably fair market value. It would have cost a lot more to acquire him the previous year, when he was a top-pairing guy (albeit on a bad team) with term left on his contract. So it is silly to base a comparison of Stone vs. Larsson on the assets their respective teams gave up to acquire them.

The problem - as usual - is you go around speaking in absolutes.
This was a great post game thread until you tossed out the "sooooo" much better comment.
Not everything needs to be the "most" or "worst" or have "ever" attached to it.
You've completely derailed this thread trying to sound concretely conclusive about something that is very subjective.
Make a Larsson thread with a poll if this is a contentious issue for you. If not, allow the unabridged celebrating to continue.
This is Stone's 7th season in the NHL. He had knee surgery as a 26 year old last year and he's almost 27 years old. How did his knee surgery effect his development/rise?
Well he wasn't a sure fire prospect. He was a 3rd round pick and I think you can admit really started to turn into a impactful player before he got hurt. He was definitely a late bloomer, so yes I do think that injury played a significant factor in his play this year in Phoenix and ultimately his demise in Phoenix. Point being Larsson is definitely not "way better" than Larsson.

Silly? The only thing "silly" in this thread is your assertion that Larsson is "wayyyyyy better" than Stone, even though statistically they are almost identical, but you've come to this stance because apparently you are the only person who has watched both of them play .
FFS, I log in and see there's a bunch of new pages in this thread, and think that it's gonna be happy happy joy joy, but nope, just a complete waste of time to read. Is it possible to ban a person from a thread? Like when one person WONT STFU ABOUT SOMETHING STUPID, can he just get banned from the thread? Wouldn't that be awesome?

Man I shouldn't have even given my response of Larsson over Stone when the question was posed. Didn't think it would spur on so much nonsense.
That Bennett fight was crazy. A lot of times nowadays when players drop the gloves there isn't much in the way of actual bloodlust (which is why I typically don't care for them), but there was some real hate happening there. Talk about fisticuffs. Bennett takes his fights to another level. Him and Ferland are deadly for a couple of averaged sized young guys.
A friend who is an Oilers fan is shaking his head when reading the argument of Larsson and Stone on this thread. He isn't a member but wanted me to put this thought on here:
If the Flames had Larsson on their team where would he be ranked? His ranking is Giordano, Hamilton, Brodie and then Larsson. He thinks with Stone on the team the Flames have the best defense on paper and they have been playing that way on the ice.
Now this friend of yours, this "Oilers fan" .. is he you?
I am not an Oilers fan. And I wouldn't know how to rank Brodie. He is very gifted offensively but he needs that anchor on his right to play the Brodie game.

False. He simply needs Not Wideman.
