I underrated Tkachuk's skating, although not great....
His hockey sense , stick skills and compete level drown out any improvement areas.
So impressive.

Exactly, how many times does Johnny get a good pass that sets him for a chance. Not very often and usually comes off a lucky bounce. This has been the same story since Hudler left. Johnny has to do everything.

I wasn't all that hot on Tkachuk until late into the year, and even then wasn't thrilled. As just some dummy watching games on TV or youtube clips it was so hard to get a read on him with his two highly skilled linemates in Marner and Dvorak, wasn't afraid he leaned on them too much.
Thankfully as a messageboard dummy I am so glad I was wrong and the kid is legit. Just wish he wasn't American because he's going to be a pain in the butt in international hockey for the next while.

McDavid has played more games it does help his point...maybe he said it wrong though

I agree Tkachuk might be the right fit long term for the RW top line.
Maybe put Bennett with Frolik and Backlund. I think it could work, and help kickstart Bennett.
Third line of Versteeg-Jankowski-Brouwer
