Bad feeling about this. Dallas real unlucky not to be up 3-0 or such. St. Louis will tighten up their NZ coverage in the next two.

I don't think Russell is worth a first but I also think it's a very ordinary going rate for trade deadline rental D, and Russell was the best one put forth on the market (though I think Hamhuis and Schlemko are better). Neither team "won" or "lost" the trade, it was fair for both.

What a great first period. I'd feel real good about that extra first if Seguin were playing...if only...

This Hemsky Faksa line is just too awesome.
Makes you wonder how the stars plan on bringing Seguin back in. Every Stars line looks so balanced right now. Does Eakin drop from #1C to #4C? Or does Seguin slide on Spezza's wing?
Also Nichushkin is like a big russian Paul Byron. So non-threatening offensively.

Agreed. I watched him closely on couple of shifts. No awareness at all, offensively or defensively. I'd take a chance if he was cheap but not worth a not right now.

Russell, Johns, and Demers have been the best defensemen for the Stars in their zone.
Klingberg, Goligoski, Demers, and Oduya have been a mess.

Russell looked terrible on that play. He had so much time and just kept rimming the puck....then got lost and just laid down on the ice. Brutal

No penalties so far and Coach Ruff has not pulled his goalie yet! The Blues have the edge in shots 19-16 after forty minutes.

During the second intermission on NBC, Bob Costas talked about the Kentucky Derby and explained that the favourite in the race is Nyquist (Gustav Nyquist). The Stanley Cup was at the Derby with the horse sniffing it.

3-1 Dallas. So much for our first rounder. It was fun to cheer for while it lasted!

He hasn't really had to do much. At least when I've been watching.
The Stars are frustrating to watch. They don't look motivated at all, feet not moving, big loops around the puck, toe dragging at the offensive blue line. Oiler-esque
