What was their weak point? Special teams obviously. But they brought in someone to work on the power play for the last months and it was much improved. The power play was also much better with Hamilton and Nakladal ahead of Wideman. The onus is on Treliving to move Wideman now.
I'd be shocked if they axed Hartley. I don't think there's a chance of it happening.

I see the PP was better in the last half of the year.
My issue is the stubbornness of Hartley, if his hand wasn't forced by Wideman suspension then he would've kept Wideman on the 1st unit all year.
If he wasn't forced to play Ortio via Ramo injury, then they would have lost Ortio's rights.
If he wasn't forced to play Nakladal via Wideman/Smid injuries, there was a good chance they would lose him as well (wasn't playing him or playing him few minutes a night).
If they hadn't decided the season was basically over, he wouldn't have tried Bennett at center.
He sticks to what has worked for him in the past until he's forced to make a change. Not a good trait.
