Yeah, that might be the case, but he might have been referring to the Cammy situation. There might already be an offer that the Flames are willing to accept so that it's not "giving the player away".

The internal price tag was getting Russell off the payroll for the rest of the year.... 5th round pick.
Russell will be traded for something more than a 5th round pick!!

Brett Ritchie and a second for Russell? Would that makes everyone happy?

I feel like Kris Russell is going to go to WSH. And Riley Barber is coming back to CGY.

It would make me happy.
Don't know how happy Stars fans would be, but I wouldn't really care.

What is the deal with Ritchie?
10-15 goal scorer? I can see that he is 6'3".
Is he tough to play against?

Their version of Joe Colborne. Everyone sees the size and gets excited, but on ice he hasn't shown much.

Yea I'm not overly high on Ritchie. Wouldn't be too impressed if he was the main piece in a Russell trade.

Friedman is bringing up Seth Griffiths name. Small RW/C from Boston, 60 point guy in the AHL. Gaudreau sized though. Not sure how much interested the Flames would have.

Disagree, he's been hurt a lot. He plays physical. Colborne is allergic to playing physical, Ritchie is not.

This. While it's nice to speculate about more wheeling and dealing with 2nd round picks, the best bet is to simply draft players with them. Are people forgetting we got Andersson and Kylington with 2nd round picks?

No
They're also remembering we got Dougie Hamilton for two 2nd's and a 1st.
Either are valid.

Dreger: Stars have Russell marginally ranked ahead of Hamhuis
Some question if Stars are willing to give up what the Flames want

thanks Dreger
If the Stars did want to give up what the Flames were asking, the trade would be over by now.
