I just hope that the drop in the draft and the WJC snub will motivate him to prove the doubters wrong. Perhaps he had it too easy as a youngster with his immense talent. A little adversity, especially at this age, can be a really good thing.
Obviously, it could go the other way and he fades into oblivion, but from what I heard post-draft, he seems to be a pretty thoughtful guy.

That one is weird.
Kid was on the team last year until he got hurt.

Snubbed from WJC? That's unfortunate. Hopefully he can have a strong start to the season wherever he ends up and play his way on to the team.

Every team in the CHL gets 2 pick in the draft to pick import players.
Going by the Memorial Cup 3 of the last 5 year the best team in the CHL has been from the Q.
2011 Saint John
2012 Shawiningan
2013 Halifax
The Q is not that bad.

too bad; to me this reinforces Loob's suggestion to get him out of Sweden ASAP

Sweden just might not be the right place for him to develop.

I would be interested in knowing whether many players make it to the final roster without being invited to the summer camp. I know it is rare in Canada, but does happen from time to time.
It isn't as if Sweden hasn't gaffed in picking players. They managed to omit Hedman from the olympic team (not sure if he was in camp, but even prior to this year, he had to have been better than Ericsson)

CHL import draft going on right now... about half way through the 1st round.
Any hope of him ending up with the Hitmen is gone, as the Hitmen are passing on both their picks.

I'd look for some of the richer teams in the CHL if he's coming over (Portland, Kitchener, London, Halifax, Saint John, Calgary, etc).
And I highly suspect that Kanzig will be in the ECHL for most of this year.

He was picked 60th for a reason. This is why slotting him as the Flames #1 defenseman prospect is kinda silly at this point. You need to have more than great skating to play in the NHL.

Alright...lets hope that Kelowna takes him with their CHL prospect draft pick then.
Defensive development powerhouse.

only 24 guys on that list?
Perhaps there is still a chance for others to break in...doesn't Canada usually invite upwards of 40-50 guys?

Can't he come play in the AHL next year? Nylander did it for Toronto why couldn't Kylington do the same?

He could but we already have a logjam at defense on our AHL team.
Would be better suited to get a year at a top CHL program and then can go to the AHL the following year.
However I have a feeling he won't be drafted today in the import draft leaving the AHL or AIK as his two options.

He can, but he would be the 6th or 7th defenseman on the depth chart.
