Out of 9 teams, 7 have had starting QB's who have or will miss significant time this season due to injury. In addition, 4 teams have had to start a third string QB (it'll be 5 assuming Jennings gets the start for BC next week). That is half the league!
This is starting to become a major problem because only a few teams have quality depth at backup let alone the #3 spot. Not sure what the CFL can do about it -- maybe allow each team to carry a 4th string QB on the practice roster without using up a spot?

That's a tough one for Zach and Ti-Cats fans as well as for the league in general, he was far-and-away the favourite to win the MOP award and the Ti-Cats looked like the prohibitive favourite to represent the East in the Grey Cup.

There's a decent chance that the Stamps could face Henry Burris and the REDBLACKS in the Grey Cup game in Winnipeg.
/Obviously, still a lot of football to be played between now and then.

Grey Cup should be Calgary's to lose now. Just have to host the Western Final.

Yup, and hope for a good weather day on that November afternoon. 5 degrees Celsius with low winds, come on David Spence make it happen

What I expected to hear after seeing it happen Saturday.
Really really too bad for him and Ti-Cat nation.

You'd have to think the Ti-Cats would have already contacted the Riders about acquiring the services of Kevin Glenn.

Yeah, I hope the Ti-Cats can get Glenn, Pretty pathetic when there are only 2 good teams left in the league.

The obvious solution is to add more imports to the rosters to play on the line. You have raw Canadians trying to handle experienced, very good Americans who are nearly NFL calibre and the QBs are getting killed.

Not sure I agree with that assessment.
Collaros was a non-contact injury, as was Durant.
QB's in the NFL are protected by American linemen and they go down just as much as CFL QB's do...look at Romo and Cutler yesterday and McCown last week. All different circumstances with similar results based on their decisions.
It's just part of the game and when the QB is the only guy to handle the ball every play, they are gonna get hit and sometimes that results in injuries unfortunately.

Let the teams carry a 4th Canadian QB who doesn't against the ratio/roster limit. Win win for everyone. Teams get a 4th QB who knows the play book. Canadian QBs get a chance to develop and maybe one day deliver

#Bombers have released LB Jasper Simmons.
You're quickly running out of teams, Jasper.

#Ticats won't seek veteran quarterback to back up Mathews, Kent Austin intimates. "Who is there?" says Austin. #CFL
Kevin Glenn should be able to secure a home playoff game for the Ti-Cats, but maybe the Riders are asking for a king's ransom.

Calgary vs Edmonton in the West final will the defacto Grey Cup. Both teams will get huge support in Winnipeg in the Grey Cup making it a home game, and I don't see Ottawa or Montreal or a Zachless Hamilton winning.

Not surprise that Slaughter were released. I was not impressed with his performance against BC except the kickoff return after Chris Rainey scored on a punt return. As for Rennie Curran, I thought he was highly regarded by Eskimo fans and Cutthbert/Suitor. What happenned? Did he get injured? I wasn't really paying attention to Eskimos except when they played the Stamps.
Kind of funny Jasper Simmons got released by the Bombers. I bet he's regretting his agent and his actions right now. He could still be playing for the best team in the CFL right now even on a part-time basis.

And as a lovely parting gift, the CFL gave him a fine:

Winnipeg Blue Bomber Jasper Simmons has been fined for lowering his head and leading with the crown of his helmet, making it the primary point of contact as he hit an opponent.

Jasper should fire his agent. If he couldn't crack the Winnipeg lineup how does his agent think why he wasn't playing in Calgary. Too bad I actually like the trade with Ottawa but it turned out Calgary got robbed because the player they traded Maurice Price is still playing while the 2 players they picked up are already gone. Not sure if there's any other team still willing to pick him up.
