There was a decided undercurrent to every interaction I had today. People were excited, edgy and just wanted the hell out of there to get to where they were going to watch the game. Myself included. Disappointingly I seem to have been the only one to Jersey Up at work, and I only saw 2 car flags on my drive home.
I think this city is going to explode should we clinch tonight tho. Everywhere I went there was a feeling of a bale of TNT just waiting for the spark to kick it off.

Always cool to see all the Flames fans overseas who dedicate themselves to waking up in the middle of the night to support the team! A big salute to you all!

Just remember, there is more at stake in tonight's game than a simple playoff spot.
So much more.
The Kings are the top puck possession team in the League 5-on-5 when it comes to CF%. The Flames, by contrast, are the third-worst in the NHL in the same category.
So tonight represents THE CORSI CUP!
Analytics has predicted all season long that the Kings will make the playoffs and the Flames will vie for Connor McDavid in the lottery.
Well, tonight is basically analytics' elimination game.
A win by the Flames tonight and analytics will be totally, utterly and finally disproven in a real world setting. A loss for the Kings, and the proponents of analytics, like Kyle Dubas, Cam Charron, Tyler Dellow and Sunny Mehta will be proven to be feckless, gibbering hucksters of moronism.
(Oh waitasecond.
Their hockey knowledge has already been utterly and completely discredited as snake oil by the flaming dumpsters of turd that were the Leafs', Oilers' and Devils' regular seasons this year?
Quickly checks standings. Shockingly realizes that the new wave of analytics consultants have gone 0/3 in terms of achieving the playoffs for their teams in the 2014-15 NHL season.
Can that be? A 0.00% success rate? Or for those of you who are not mathematically inclined: Goose Egg; Zero; Zilch; Nada; Nix; Nil; Nothing; Naught; Cipher; and Sweet Fanny Adams?.
Could hockey analytics have produced literally nothing of value?
Nevermind . . .)

So I have the PVR set. Can't quite make it home for the start. I heard the game is going to be national now. Is it still going to be on Sportsnet West? Or are they moving it? Can't find anything on the Sportsnet site except for them saying it's on SN.

Agreed, I saw a lot of jerseys downtown today and people talking about the game. One older guy had a Lanny mustache, red shorts and was decked out in flames gear. I should of creepily taken a picture of him, it was amazing.
Tomorrow is casual Friday so if we clinch tonight expect to see a lot of Flames jerseys!
