He could probably use a good year in the AHL to work on his skating and pro game but you just know that's not going to happen as he will be pushed back into the NHL. Feel kind of bad for him.
The management had to kick him out of the arena. He tried to suit up for a Flames game and just walk onto the ice. Forcing him? Feel bad? Why? The team needs to restrain him if anything.
The Flames future does look very bright indeed. Bennett is obviously now rounding into form and lighting it up with the Frontenacs.
Who we don't mention very much is Morgan Kilmchuk - it was noted on the Back Burner thread that Klimchuk now has 36 points in his last 23 games with the Wheat Kings (1.56 PPG average).

Draisaitl is a great prospect, Oilers property or not. However, I have since watching him in the NHL have come to think that he will just not be a good enough skater to be a big impact player at the highest level. I'm pretty happy that the Flames ended up with Bennett.
Saw Draisaitl play twice in Kelowna and he dominated. Great player as well as you say.
I just don't get the selection though. They went size sure, but Bennett is 6'1" and plays like an ass, that isn't drafting what you already have in Nugent Hopkins.

I saw Draisaitl play a game against the Lethbridge Hurricanes right after he got sent down and he was absolutely dominant. Had like 6 points or something like that. Could have had more if the goaltending was weaker.
It was the Hurricanes though, so that's probably more comparable to getting 2-3 points against a good team.

Yeah Draisaitl has looked dominant back in the dub. His size is a big advantage there, and he can control the speed of the game. There is no doubt he is a very good player.
But the Oilers taking him over Bennett was beyond stupid. And absolutely awesome!

More PP control / domination. Then a good attempt to crash the net with the puck. Then a great defensive play to cause a turnover, followed be a beauty rush and more cycling. Finally a great turnover to set up another chance.
Just an annoying request - could one of the mods change the title of this thread to something like "Bennett in Kingston", or "Bennett Talk" or whatever? He has already played his first game in Kingston after all
Bennett hits another post, then sets a teammate up for a good chance. Then 2 more good rushes followed by a good hit on the backcheck and another good setup.
