You can argue Smid was ducking but that was clearly in the head.

How can he call that a shot to the chest when that play clearly shows it's to the head. What an idiot.

The trouble is the league might catch it, and it will be for the next game. No help to my flames :P

Smid was certainly in a bad position, but then why jump? To ensure you throw a huge cheapshot I guess.

Disgusting how homeristic Bob Errey was in describing the Dupres headshot.

Worse than Garret.

I love how all these garbage players that couldn't cut it in the NHL because they had the skill of a dead guppy think their opinion is any good about the game of hockey when they go into television. The game has changed since your brain dead plays Mr. May.

It is ####ing disgusting that we have to listen to biased ex Canucks and Oilers do analysis on Flames games during the intermission.

he looks pretty slow all around - whenever he's leading the rush or going for loose pucks he's pretty slow. I was semi joking, the guys coming off an injury so I'm not gonna bag on him...yet

The league won't miss it. And calls are missed every game, sometimes even flagrant ones. Not much can be done about it.

And this is where Bollig really needs to lose his job. After the first cross check on Gaudreau he should have put Lerang on notice.

After that cheap hit on Smid he was on the ice he should have done more then some yakking.

In the third period he has to put someone through the boards.

Way to little physical pushback.

Regardless, the fact he left his feet and jumped into an illegal hit to the head means he should be done this game and suspended as well.

I...err...erm...How can Brad May say that was chest that rolled into head. Watch it again moron! Despres only had eyes for Smids head, hence why he leapt and drove himself up. He didn't expect Smid to duck granted, but there was no way he was aiming for his chest, that was as clear a headshot as you are likely to see. Its a physical game I agree, but that sort of hit is dangerous and can result in serious injury. If the league doesn't suspend Despres for that, then their policy on clamping down dangerous hits is a joke.
