Food for thought: The 4 people who are currently voting for GP Matt were 4 of the 6 who had votes on them at the time of the alleged slip-up. Perhaps self-preservation is causing an over-reaction?
I am going to hold off until we hear from either GP or RatherDashing, but wouldn't be opposed to lynching either if that's what tomorrow brings.

I will switch to GP, as much as that could just be a miscommunication, it gives us a certain next day kill if he flips mafia.

edit: I was originally going to wait until tonight and give him a chance to respond, but since I am unsure if I will be able to check the thread tonight, and would rather err on the side of knocking him out.

My hesitation with voting for Matt is if he flips town, we don't get a lot of information to go on for day 2 because all the votes against him are easily justifiable.
BUT, if he flips mafia we are way ahead by not only lynching a mafia, but we very likely get a mafia lynch on day 2 as well. Early on, I think the risk is worth the reward.

I hope we stumbled on a gold mine and this isn't just an easily explained whoopsie... If the do know each other and are chatting about the game via text or whatever, isn't that against the game rules?

I feel bad if it's an honest mistake but the potential for grabbing two mafia right off the bat is too much.

That's 9 votes. Enough for a lynch. Do we wait for an explanation?

I'd wait for him to post. What if he has a legit explaination and has an ability we could use? I'd rather wait and see what he says. I'm of the opinion he's mafia but there's no rush

Agreed Wood. We already have enough votes to be able to wait out a deadline lynch. Nothing to lose by waiting, and perhaps he can provide us with some thoughts should he flip town.

I'm willing to give it some time, but do we want to give the mafia that much planning time? If GP_Matt is mafia they are probably freaking out right now and the longer we give them the better the chance they will start having excuses and spin things back onto us.
I'm all for giving him a couple hours to make sure we didn't hit a townie that somehow made an honest mistake, but I'm not sure we want to give him until 10pm tomorrow. If he flips mafia, we bought them 36 hours (plus whatever time would be needed to get to Day 2, so probably even more time) to get themselves out of this mess instead of hitting them when they are running scattered. It's been 4 hours since the slip up and we jumped him pretty quick. I sort of expected some sort of reply from him by now.

I can see it now
Matt and Dashing are BFFs outside the game and post several selfies to confirm. People still not sure if they can trust them decide to vote Matt anyways. Matt decides to reveal he's town and has the ability to kill one person

LOL. While that would be hilarious, it doesn't seem tremendously likely. Sometimes things just are what they seem...
I think the risk reward of voting for GP_Matt is tipped by the fact that it would be a two-for-one deal. If it's a mistake, we've only lost one townie, (which is the most likely day one outcome anyway). If he is mafia, we probably get two right off the bat, which would be an unbelievable start to the game, and should just about guarantee a town win.
That's especially true when you consider this is a role heavy game, which should benefit the town more than the mafia, as logically speaking the town should have more roles...

I actually just thought of another possibility...
In the first game, there were people who were townies who had a "twin" (I think they were called masons?) who they could talk to outside the thread, and who Mazrim confirmed were also townies.
I think that was actually a decisive factor in the town's win, UCB and Wood using that power...
