Good for Kerr/Flames/Snet Radio. No question of his knowledge or passion or preparation. Perfect for radio, far too green to be a NHL PBP guy.

I expect he may be on TV as well if each Canadian team gets a Snet magazine type/weekly TV wrap up show.

Kelly Hrudey as a color guy on TV? Ball would be awesome as well by Kelly with the Calgary connections is a natural fit.

It is great news Kerr is going back to radio. Hopefully the entire Sportsnet Flames broadcast, from the play by play to the production value, is greatly improved for next year.

Kelly Hrudey is not anti flames. At all. He doesn't constantly spew superlatives when they are a bad team, but that doesn't make him anti flames

Agreed I wouldn't mind seeing Kerr do some television work maybe even in some sort of HNIC hot stove type thing on weekends.

Feel terrible for Rob Kerr, I think he is awesome on radio and looking forward to him being on in the afternoon. That being said he always said he wanted to be a PBP guy. Hope he gets another shot, I grew to like him.

I think the combo of Kerr and Steinberg in the afternoon will be great, especially with Steinberg having more experience and Steinberg having a stronger personality than 2-3 years ago when they were together previously. This will probably be the best the afternoon show has been since the Boomer-Kerr combo.

I hope Kerr and Steinberg split the pre-game post game stuff close to 50-50, would be nice to get 2 differing styles all year. Not sure what the plan is though. Probably stronger content as well, if one guy does not have to do 60-70 games like Steinberg this year, plus burn out becomes less of an issue.

Hopefully Kerr isn't jaded by this demotion, radio really is where he shines. Always liked tuning in the last few years when he would cover for people on the afternoon shows, think he's actually gotten better since leaving for TV, got a bit of arrogance to him that makes good banter on the radio. Arrogant but knowledgeable is a good combination with Steinberg, who too often ends up just agreeing with people all the time.

Agree with Erik Estrada as well, some time on HNIC hotstove lounge would probably be a smart move by Rogers, maybe even just some games when the Flames are playing.

That promo is embarrassing for sportsnet. Why do they need to pretend he is something he isn't? Instead of 'short fuse' and 'loose cannon', how about 'knowledgable and insightful'. It's kind of pathetic how sportsnet views the listeners as a bunch of morons who want to listen to Howard Stern cover hockey.
