Hell, look at Brendan Shinnimin. He tore the WHL up.

Even if that's the case I still take Poirier and Jankowski over Shinkaruk and Gaunce.

Feaster did well?

Regehr trade was awful.
Tanguay signed for five years (miles beyond the contracts of the other vets)
Anton Babchuk for two years
Tim Jackman signed for two years
Bouwmeester trade was awful
SOB/David Jones trade was awful
Even if you get rid of the waivers fiasco, the ROR move was dumb (bad team over paying a guy and giving up a 1st and 3rd rounder to do it)

The best move he had - the Erixon trade was forced on him.

All of these 'good' things he's done besides Monahan are magic beans right now. Some of them are looking good... but let's wait until they prove it on the ice to give a passing grade.

And Cameron didn't get to play with Connor McDavid or Connor Brown (OHL leading scorer)

So it comes down to Poirier vs Shinkaruk.

Based on the results of this season, you have to take Poirier. Add to that the rumours of Shinkaruk's teammates in Medicine Hat absolutely hating him.
Interesting, never heard the rumours of Shinkaruk being hated. Talked to him at cowboys (albeit drunk out of my mind) a few times and he seemed like a pretty good guy. That said, he's a Canuck now so who knows what could have happened.

How Canuck fans can argue Shinkaruk is better than Poirier is beyond me. Shinkaruk is too small and one dimensional.

The best moves Feaster made, were the ones he couldn't get done.

Don't forget about the alleged Richards contract offer. Word at the time was the Richards took less money than Feaster had offered to sign with the Rags. 3 years into that deal and he's a borderline buyout candidate.

Didn't know Baertschi was a mistake. And that Calgary's draft record still sucked. News to me?

Idiots.
also Feaster didn't sign Lecavalier to that contract. That was all ownership and IIRC Feaster stepped down before that happened (probably because of it)

Shinkaruk is a massive flaming turd. I'm not sure I'd even trade a 3rd round pick for him.

Unless his parents get to fly with the team and sharpen his skates all over NA, don't expect him to be an NHLer.

Yeah, whiners from CDC and their rants have to be taken with a grain of salt (or rather a heaping tablespoon).

What is with the Shinkaruk hate? Everyone wanted him when it was the Flames' turn to pick.

5th for Russell,

4th for Colborne,

Erixon for Horak/Wotherspoon/Granlund, Horak/Brossoit then flipped for Smid/Roy,

4th for Knight,

Bourque (the guy who scored 15 points this year) for Cammalleri and potentially our new starting goaltender in Karri Ramo.

There were equally a handful of good moves that he made, the only thing that really tips the scale is the ROR incident, from which there were no consequences.

Ya, I guess it will be interesting to see. Seems a little entitled. His parents are there for everything, is it smothering or giving your child everything they need?

A good amount of people did, probably not more than 40%.

His attitude and a few things that happened after the draft certainly brought on the haters.

I don't know about equal, but he did have 2 big wins (Russel for 5th, Erixon for Horak+2 2nds)

Cammalleri trade, if you're going to list it, at least be accurate. The way you listed it is as accurate as saying Erixon was traded for Horak who was traded for Oliver Roy.

Knight for a 4th is not a win at this point.

The Bourque trade is a win (although you did forget Furcale) but it basically was shuffling deck chairs on the titantic since Cammy led the Flames no where. Ramo and Furcale will decide that one.

I'll give you the others although Russell would probably land a 3rd or 4th now so not a mega win there and I suspect Burke pushed for the Colborne trade.

Mike Cammalleri, Karri Ramo and a 5th (Ryan Culkin)
for
Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland and a 2nd (Zach Fucale)

Cammy >>> Bourque
Ramo >>> Holland

unless Fucale turns into a Patrick Roy calibre goaltender, that trade is a huge win for Calgary.

Okay, we traded Patrick Holland and a 2nd along with Bourque as well as acquired a later pick. Everything else is accurate. And still wins for Feaster.

As he said at the time, with the MTL trade, he made the move as much for Ramo as he did for Cammy. Wasn't just a throw in to him. If Ramo pays off in the longer term, then that was a great move on his part.
